Flat Earth General / Re: How deep can you drill?
« on: February 06, 2016, 06:51:57 AM »Borehole interest was high in the past. I believe the Russians hold the record at around 35 km (22 mi) deep with the Kola hole. Qatar had an effort at it and the USA had Mohole going for a while in the 50's.
REers have the resources to complete an Earth depth project and should really use their funding advantage to complete one.
It does not have to be drilling and they should also consider the possibility of pounding pipe into the Earth, adding more and more length until the other side is reached. This process has proven successful when installing water well access for drinking.
In the case of Earth depth, once the pipe is through a camera can be lowered into the pipe with an attached directional spotlight to illuminate the camera view. The result will be amazing and answer many questions.
What material would the pipe use, anyway? Otherwise, the only astounding view you will get is that of the inside of a pipe.
