Hello friends
I just got back from camping in Nordeg in the mountains for a few days it is serene and beautiful and remote. There are 2 main routes into the mountains west of us - to jasper west of Edmonton, and to Banff west of Calgary. Red Deer is halfway between Ed. and Cowtown, and Nordeg is east of it in the mountains.
They were reportedly goin to make Nordeg into a big city, but the coal mine got shut down due to flooding or something. I think there is a lot to explore in the area.
Also they got bigfoot there. Les Stroud Survivorman did an episode on bigfoot there.
I picked a bundle of of usnea lichen ("old mans beard") from trees - good medicine, my herbal plants book says, for respiratory diseases and more potent antibiotic then penicilin for gram positive, or is it negative(?) bacteria. And Usnea lishen grows every where.... can anyone confirm this lichen medicine idea?
I will also post pics of this Lichen for anyone curious - supposedly it is good medicine for the whole family. It is light grey green, kindof beige green, light green thread like bundles 1 inch thick and 2 to 4 long that grows hangin from tree branches. "It has a central elasticy cord".
??"yellow lichen is poisonous"??
In the off chance anybody is sick and this could help / wants to try it - I drank some - its spicy.
There were small few mushrooms there this year though.
I also widdled three wooden spoons out of firewood - i wil post pics for a chuckle when i get them out of the trailer.
-
I’d imagine it is best used as a firestarter.
-
Apparently you can smoke it too, but of course thats a completely diffenrent variety - i think.

I hope you're not eating those.

My Lion Mane mushrooms are finally pinning.

EAT THE SHROOMS.
My friend from the mushroom club brought me a bunj of albertas best mushrooms from Edson - hedgehog mushrroms. Itraded him for extra houseplants. I will definitely eat those!
and i am gonna try to start drimkinf the lichen tea with mint all the time, but i didn't get any mushrooms from Nordeg...lichen is a symbiotic relationship between fungus and algae, though.

Not sure what it is, but I care.
I remember picking fly agarics, drying and eating those and being very let down.

I've been sampling various mushrooms.
Some are expensive. They all taste like mushrooms.
I'm waiting for one to be super delicious. :D
I may just steal a truffle. I hear people say they're awesome.

Just don't eat any you find growing in the woods. That's a good way to have fun. :)

That's a good way to catch toxoplasmosis. Ever try and make a cat eat something it doesn't want? :o

Yep, the trick is not caring if the cat lives or dies.

Shit

Google says its for gram positive bacteria. All I know about it is it you're lost in the forest and you're really hungry, you can eat it. I've tried, doesn't taste of much.

It's a mind controlling parasitic alien organism spread by cats that will result in us all being their slaves, once in the body of prey species they actually seek out cats and show no fear, thus get eaten, in humans it creates lesions on the brain that result in an increase in dangerous behaviour, craziness and a love of cats. Crazy cat lady is a syndrome not a quaint form of decline, no other animal has as many cults, don't fear the lizards or the reaper, fear those cat videos.
Burn & cleanse.

Thx guys for the info - Jura you're jokng right?

Nope, an insidious creeping menace infecting probably 25% of all mammalian life on earth, base line the parasite needs cats to breed in return it alters their prey species behaviour, removing the fear response and making them actively seek out cat urine.
Incurable, it sits in the brains of humans altering our dopamine levels making us prone to impulsivity, a study in Poland found that car accidents involving recklessness and anger were directly correlated to T. gondii infestation, and you probably won’t even be aware you have it, in most people infection if felt at all is only accompanied by mild flu symptoms.
Why does it bother doing that to us? Long term planning, it may only be a single cell but its hive mind has conceived a time beyond the fall of civilisation when big cats once again roam the earth, and the hunting is good.

The next time you see a pair of vertically slitted eyes following you, know that it is calculating the degree of enthrallment you are under to its mewling cuteness, and just how good your ancestors will taste to its.

Oh please, you don't know anything about evolutionary biological morphism and adaptational psychology...please.

I'm a cat person. They are sooooooooo cute!
Their litter tray stinks like hell though. No way am I attracted to that. I haven't had a cat for over a decade but I can't remember waking up thinking 'oh yay! I'm going to check out the litter tray!'
I would however wake up to the fluffy critter sleeping peacefully next to me :)

Nearly 100% of people afflicted with toxoplasmosis initially deny the possibility that they may, in fact, have toxoplasmosis prior to clinical diagnosis.
-
It is unlikely owners of domesticated cats where the cat spends most of their time indoors and if you don't handle their poo would be infected
Desex your cat, only let it out on a full stomach and use disposable gloves when changing/cleaning the litter tray. It's not hard
The only hard thing is giving your cat a bath

Shifter is another likely victim. I'm sorry Shifter. It's not your fault.

Is time a flat circle to these beasts?

Indeed it is believed so, that and interdimensional transmutation specialists.
Their thralls, of which we have already uncovered two here, will have nothing said against them, not recognising the complete disdain in which they are held by their slavers despite the fact they will up sticks and move house on a whim and will happily eat your face if if you keel over from one of the myriad diseases they carry.
