Title: So what's underneath the earth?
Post by: Roundtable on June 01, 2018, 02:19:45 AM
What hold the oceans depth of 36,000 feet or is that a hoax also and where does the lava come from what contains that. And for that matter what produces it?

Yes, it is a hoax that the ocean's depth is 36,000 miles.

I would have to say that the oceans depth may not be 36,000 miles, as this number doesn't seem logical for one. Secondly, man has only gone as far as 7 miles below the oceans surface. Now as far as Lava goes, the flat earth theory doesn't remove fault lines as there is 100% undeniably tectonic plates. It is the shifting of these plates that generate heat and cause oceanic crust to heat and melt and become lava. Lava pools exist and when pressures arise from the cooling of lava, eruptions happen in some spots. Any other questions? Ill be glad to give my input on them.

Literally nobody says the ocean is 36,000 miles, this just shows that you don't even do research before claiming that a round earther is wrong.

The depth of the ocean is 36,000 feet, not miles.

Apart from moving the decimal in the depths of the oceans ..... the origiinal question was What's underneath the earth?

This question has already been asked a hundred times on this website and never answered satisfactorily or with any sort of finality, because FE's, despite an agreement on a certain characteristic of flatness, cannot agree on anything else about the configuration of this planet.  For example, they cannot agree on whether this planet has an Edge with a side that turns downward or whether its flat surface somehow goes on in all directions (two dimensional) forever.  Either way, it's unclear what the flat planet is sitting on and what that is sitting on.  I am disinclined about unknown flat surface stretching out into infinity for many reasons, including that infinite surface would interfere with the movement of the sun, moon, and stars.  So, left with the notion of an Edge and sides, I am eager for exploration and mountaineering of those sides to see if there are resources that can be exploited, possibly gravity that will enable people to live on we would consider the side of the planet, and possibly plants and even animals not known on the surface.  In any case, neither the infinite surface nor the Edge has been located even though, when you consider it, it ought to be in every direction if you go far enough.

Not knowing the configuration of the Earth, or what the flat planet is sitting on, we really have no clue about the minerals (or natural or supernatural forces) below the dig-able surface of this planet.  So your question remains unanswered.

Apart from moving the decimal in the depths of the oceans ...
In a base 10 numbering system, moving a decimal does not change a value by a factor of 5280.

No matter how many times we say it's probably just rocks, someone comes along and says we never answer.

You keep saying it's probably just rocks. I've never seen any evidence presented on any answer, hence my recent question in Flat Earth Q&A. You appear to not know the difference between "It's probably just rocks" (no evidence) and "My guess it that it's just rocks" (which I would take your word for).

Yes, it is a hoax that the ocean's depth is 36,000 miles.

It's 36,000 feet in the Marianas Trench in the Pacific Ocean, not 36,000 miles.
Where did this "36,000 miles" figure come from ?
It would be an impossibility in the first place.

Check the OP. It doesn't say "36,000 miles".....It plainly says "36,00 feet".
I can not understand how or why you misread that and how or why you misquoted it ?

There is really no evidence for a flat earth in the first place.

The usual answer that some flat earthers have given is "Nobody's ever been there."

The top side of the earth is made of rocks, is that not evidence that the underside would also be made of rocks?

Check the edit stamp in the OP. That has an important clue as to what created the discrepancy you are noticing ;)

To Roundtlable

I'm just curious.

Maybe you typed in "36,000 miles" first and posted, but after you had posted, you read it, saw your error,  and went back and edited it to correct it to read "36,000 feet" ?
I've done the same thing on some of my posts. I typed in something, but caught the error and went back, edited and corrected.
That is the only I way can see how he could have read "miles" instead of "feet".
Just a nit-pick .
Just curious.

Yes, that is precisely what happened. After other people stated 36k miles was wrong, the OP updated the post to say feet instead, some 10 hours later. Meaning, many people has a chance to read and reply before the first post was corrected.

Seeing as how several people quoted the OP as it said miles, I cannot understand how you cannot understand how or why people quoted it that way.

Maybe the OP edited the post.....

Ski is correct, any attempt to discuss this would be turtles all the way down - only in observing another side could we say anything about it. Anything more is as silly as the religion of Genesis, or of the Big Bang.

Ye, turtles. Seems far more logical that an army of turtles would carry a flat planet - the only one to be in the whole universe so far - and push it toward.

The quote regarding 'turtles all the way down' refers to the nature of inductive arguments to lead to infinite regression. It comes from a humourous story regarding a flat earther owning Bertrand Russel.
