Title: Favorite YouTube channels
Post by: Space Cowgirl on January 19, 2018, 01:44:17 PM
Which channels do you watch ALL THE TIME?

I just found this one the other day, it's in Chinese but she doesn't say anything anyway. It's so interesting and also relaxing at the same time. https://www.youtube.com/c/cnliziqi (also, she is lovely)

I love Hand Tool Rescue https://www.youtube.com/user/erzzi6/featured  He rebuilds old tools, there's no talking, or music, he just rebuilds the tools.

They were bought out by a large company. Then the price of online advertising dropped catastrophically due to widespread use of ad blockers and the YouTube adpocolypse. The parent company then slashed the budget for anything interesting and fired all of the senior writers. It's a shell it's former self now.

I can see that you're a little bothered from that time I called you a white supremacist.  Maybe I spoke out of turn there.  I'll tell you what,  I'll downgrade your status to just racist.  Does that work for you?

Well, they've changed a bit. Simon isn't quite as active, Lewis is a bit more crazy and just doesn't mind what he says, so he says a lot of whatever comes to his mind, and I don't know how long ago we're talking about but two of their editors have joined in quite a bit, as well as a few other people. Overall, they are very funny and nice to listen to. Of course, that's for the main channel. They've grown quite large as a company, and they hold christmas streams every year as usual, using humble bundle to gather the donations. This year they got over 5 million dollars in donations, going to different charities.

So I try to play ukulele, and I stumbled across this gem of a channel a while back that is still great to go back and watch. She's great.

https://www.youtube.com/user/melieer

I think Creep was the first video I watched of hers. Back to Black is another good one, Don't Worry Be Happy... you really can't go wrong with most of the videos on that channel
Title: Re: Favorite YouTube channels
Post by: Pezevenk on April 06, 2018, 05:12:37 AM
Isn't it a bit weird that Creep is by far the most famous Radiohead song and Paranoid Android the second most famous? I wouldn't have expected Paranoid Android to get any radio play, and there are other songs they made back then that were catchier than Creep (Karma Police, Fake Plastic Trees, Just).

Anyways, I like the new podcast YourMovieSucks and IHateEverything (both of which I really like ) are doind with that RalphTheMovieMaker guy (which I find kinda obnoxious but eh). It's called Sardonicast and they mainly talk about movies and series.

I can explain it:
It's a conspiracy between the jews and illuminati, they are using special frequencies to make you obey to everything!!!
And don't ask for proof. It is 4chan knowledge. It does not require evidence. It's a fact.

3.5 hours journeying into the madness of Ted Nugent.

The first hour is pretty boring, he just drones on and on about archery. Had to skip over that.

Then he proceeds to call everyone who smokes pot to be a degenerate wasting their lives.  Joe Rogan patiently explains that the way he's demonizing pot smokers is the way the left often demonizes hunters. This of course is completely lost on him.

Then he blamed the mass shooting crisis on insufficient guns while mumbling something about Obama and liberals.  At around the 2 hour mark news broke about another mass shooting, the one at the newsroom, Ted Nugent is unfazed and blames it on gun free zones.

90 more minutes of deranged nonsense to go.

The annoying thing about Musk is that he had accumulated a pretty large cult like following that thought he could do no wrong, and I'm glad to see it disperse.

I don't think the world needs more businesspeople in politics. There's an obvious conflict of interests and they're already very overrepresented. I'm skeptical of UBI, not because I don't think you can afford it, but because it's got the potential to turn ugly. The reason all these people involved in business are freaking out about automation is exactly that it's going to challenge the model that they use to profit. Instead of saying "cool, maybe we can instead build a new system that doesn't rely on profit and wealth hoarding and indefinite growth, maybe we should gradually build something new that's gonna help everyone and also not destroy our planet and also not blow up in a crisis every 20 years" they come up with solutions such as UBI which enable them to keep playing their game while giving them a very comfortable excuse to cut down on welfare and pull the teeth out of movements that protest the conditions people have to live in etc. We're gonna be hearing an awful lot of "why are you complaining, you're already getting your free hand out at the expense of hard working people" directed at the 10-20% of people that won't be able to get a job and will have to sustain themselves on a garbage UBI. It's not about humanity, it's about preserving certain producer-consumer relationships and balances, and while it's not bad per se we have to be very skeptical of the way it's gonna be used. And it's obviously not a coincidence that this enterpreneur would be so vocal about it. Don't forget Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek also supported a UBI, or "negative tax rate", they're not exactly people who cared very much about eliminating inequality and whatnot.

In March 2014, House Bill 105 was signed by Governor Gary Herbert, legalizing possession and use of low-THC CBD oil by registered patients with a physician's recommendation and intractable epilepsy. However, the bill included no provision for patients to legally acquire the oil.

One thing about this scheme that I can't figure out is how a dying baby's organs could be useful. Not a doctor but I think you'd need sort of the same sized organs for an organ transplant. I don't think a baby heart is going to cut it for these billionaire illuminati.

Well, Tim Pool didn't do a good job (I only watched a little bit of it), but Twitter does have a bias. It's not just against conservatives. It's against anyone who doesn't follow a particular line of liberal feminism. People get banned for shit that isn't against their rules all the time, and others are allowed to get away with shit as long as their targets are the correct ones.

I've heard they do. I wouldn't doubt it. I don't know first hand because I don't use Twitter much.

Tim spent a lot of the first hour arguing that Twitter should base their rules of speech on United States law which is insane because adopting that leads to stormfront. It feels like an argument that D1 would use.

What I can't get over is that if he hates Twitter so much then why doesn't he just stay away from it? I don't understand this need to tweet.

Tim Pool occasionally sympathizes with the alt lite, he's written some dumb stuff like "tHe LeFt ArE tHe ReAl RaCiStS" and some of his videos are pandering to that demographic. He once went to Sweden looking for Muslim no go zones too, he didn't find them. I will give him that he didn't try to pretend he did, it was more honest than what others do.

I've watched many videos on National Geographic. Unfortunately this channel is trying to prove its being pilot mistakes, although Boeing has agreed its being their mistake caused by flight softwares.

It has an interesting history.  It started in Korea where I guess there's an epidemic where young people are having trouble connecting to actual humans so they stare at women eating food and pay them tips for it.

This genre came to America and we fully Americanized it.  Which means it's not a competition to see who can get heart disease the fastest.

Don't watch if you like your super hero powers and light sabres etc  to be thought of as remotely plausible. After watching, there is no amount of suspension of disbelief that could have you enjoy these movies again!!

SomeOrdinaryGamers (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtMVHI3AJD4Qk4hcbZnI9ZQ), or Mutahar Anas, isn't horror or paranormal-themed, but he often directs his attention to the dark and weird parts of the web.

I like his style. He has a quirky, subtle sense of humor and balances his commentary with a respectful attitude, laid-back approach, and knowledgeable analysis. For example, he does Dark Web Browsing videos -- he hops on Tor and sees what's up. He doesn't freak out, hardly emphasizes how scary it is, and mostly seeks to dismantle myths and just have a good laugh. Sometimes he stumbles across depraved shit, but he makes an effort to put it into context and explain why it may or may not be real.

The full interview is a decent one.  Dan Crenshaw doesn't seem like a bad guy.  It just looks like he watches way too much Fox News.

I've seen Joe Rogan do what passes for a debate for him a few times, conservatives and liberals.  It's interesting what he does.  He makes the sort of observation that a 5 year old would make, "isn't the fire department also socialist?", and Crenshaw has nothing to counter that.

Not sure if it was in the clip you saw but the part that I found really interesting is that apparently for women, testosterone has the side effects of euphoria and lowered anxiety.

I can see why a lot of girls with anxiety and depression might want to start taking it.

I just finished, that was one of his best podcasts. He was trying to be so careful, but it's hard not to see how fucked up all this is.

I don't even know why I find this channel so entertaining.  I don't even play the violin.

Been watching Markiplier and noticed his and Crankgameplays' channel Unus Annus (greek for "one year").  They try all sorts of random stuff, archery, goat yoga, get pepper sprayed, ghost hunting, the list goes on, a lot are ideas submitted by viewers, and do crap that makes zero sense sometimes, buy random stuff on amazon, OD on apple cider vinegar, but they're deleting the channel after one year.  About 80 days left now.  I've been binge watching for the last month.

Also proving the reptiles are in control.
But you didn't hear it here.  I never mentioned it.

I really enjoy channels about crafting and building.
Recently I started watching people rebuild vans into a camper. There are a lot of great videos out there!
I hope to make a trip in such a camper one day. Along the coast or something. :)

I can't remember if I linked to Paul Stamets channel before, but he's definitely one of my favorites.

20 minutes in and Rogan has been gently fact checking Jones.

It's a pretty good conversation so far.  Rogan has managed to challenge Jones without turning it into a heated debate.

I watched the corona virus lock down clip, and the Bohemian Grove clip. I might have to watch the whole thing.

Were they worth it? I've always been fascinated by Bohemian Grove stuff?

Here's the Bohemian Grove clip. It's pretty interesting, Alex knows a lot about it.

I listen to Alexrainbird music all the time. They come out with new playlist each month for the season. Its nice. My favorite is roadtrip.

Other than that my watching is mostly of comedians.

OMG. This is the most brilliant thing I've seen in ages.

AJ: I'm biologically a girl...
JR: Nah, is that true?
AJ: Yep.
JR: C'mon...
AJ: Yep.
RJ: Well how do we know?
AJ: Joe, Joe, Joe, I swear to God...

Absolute comedy gold.
