Post by: LovesLinguistics on September 23, 2017, 01:18:28 PM
‎What's the most absurd conversation you've encountered on an Internet forum? Here is one of my favorites:

The internet is a global communication tool. The documented, proven and illegal spying and influence came later.

I'm not sure why you'd make a strawman and push a lie.

Actually I've got a pretty good idea.

The internet is also an awesome tool for anyone who wants to brainwash gullible weaklings.

I'm sure d1 knows all about this.

Not if the people have anything to do with it. The internet is ours now. It has been for a long time.

Go hug your TVs and tell it the nasty "d1" is saying it lies.

It's your TV. It would never lie to you. I don't see why I trigger you guys so badly. I mean the TV says I'm wrong. Lmao how could I possibly be right about anything when the TV says I'm wrong? You guys are so gullible for thinking the TV would lie, even for a second.

Hahahahaha

Do you even understand the business model of TV?

You are the product being sold. Your time and eyeballs are captured by shit you like to see.
That is being sold to advertisers who target what you enjoy to deliver ads that your demographic will identify with and purchase. Gold is sold on the business channel. Tampons on the girl channel. Skunk scent on the hunting channel.

You poor deluded sad sack.

1840  He called it the inter-telegraph.

We could go back further when he created human inter-action.

The name changed over time.

Inter-cuneiform was at least a few years before that.  That was when we had bitbeeds to spend.

The internet is ours now. It has been for a long time.
Much of the technology may be open, but the internet is almost exclusively owned by private corporations, always has been.  Seriously, who do you think laid all those cables and installed all those routers?  Santa clause?  Anonymous?

You make a lot of astoundingly naive statements.  Is it some kind of hobby?

I was clearly referring to this "hilarious" Tim Allen vehicle.
