Title: How many FET believers are there on this board?
Post by: gpssjim on January 29, 2015, 12:37:09 PM
I'm just wondering how many people here really believe FET.  If you just like to frustrate people, here is your chance to come clean anonymously (if these polls are anonymous)!

OMG, another "Do you believe" poll.  Someone should start a "Can you use the search function" poll.

(I voted yes)

Why would anyone pretend to think the Earth is flat? Seems to me like a waste of time.

But things change don't they?  Who knows, maybe there are converts  :)

Seems to me that the poll should have asked, "are you an angry noob, Y or N?"  Anyway, what makes you think that if someone was pretending, they would admit it to you just because you made a poll?

I have no idea if anyone would admit it, that's why I asked the question?  So maybe there will be some exciting results, stay tuned.  Nice little personal attack you shoe horned in there BTW.

I'm thinking jroa missed that point LOL.

And of course, I voted NO.  Why would any intelligent person with a 21st-century knowledge of astrophysics and geophysics, and mathematics answer other than this?

no, but I argue for FET anyway.

Why?
Because I don't follow the flat Earth theory in how it's portrayed on here but I do believe the Earth is flatish.

I argue for the flat Earth because I know it's not a globe and I have very little respect for most of the global Earth indoctrinates that frequent here. A few of them are ok.

My aim is to get the truth whilst not allowing the global Earth arrogance take over this forum.

Hey! Welcome back.

Hey  ! Welcome back to the genius who holds the source of all truth !

I wish we could say the same for iWitness. :(
iWitness is good at two things.:
1.Copypasta
2.The disappearing act when you ask him a question.

LOL... this is so funny!  sceptimatic doesn't accept that the planet is spherical, but he also claims that it's not flat.  Apparently, he now thinks it's flattish.  I'm glad he's now got that sorted out with such scientific accuracy and mathematical precision.

Why is it that all of sceptimatic's comments inevitably turn  into a comedy of errors?    ;D

Yeah, actually I should have done the same, as I don't believe in the theory too. The theory is just theory you can't believe in theory anyway.

Nice to hear that Sceptimatic and Saros are Round Earthers, after all!!!

Especially after i hit the final nail in HC-RET coffin:

GAME IS OVER - After my presentation of ZIGZAG argument nothing will ever be the same. I challenge anyone to refute this argument, but i tell you, this is absolutely irrefutable argument, and no one will ever succeed to refute it. : (http://)

Why is it that you've not demanded the same from your flat earth peer sceptimatic?  He claims to have authored a dozen books, so why do you hold a round earther to a far higher standard of competency than a flat earther?

Your flat earth bias is showing... again.  Whoops!

I'm absolutely 100% not a global Earther by any stretch of the imagination.
I simply don't follow the theory of a lot of what this flat Earth society is about. That doesn't mean I don't respect what they're saying; only I have a different take on it.

For instance:

They believe in UA as gravity. I believe it's atmospheric pressure under a dome of ice.
They believe it's a disc. I believe it's like half an egg, sort of shape at the base and the other half of the egg is ice at the sky limit.

There's just two things.
Now when I mention flatish, I mean that in my view it is flat for us to walk on  but overall it isn't level flat. It's slightly concave as everything flows to the ocean and the ocean itself sits in a concave bowl from this.

A pretty ball spinning in space is preposterous. It's so ridiculous that I could never be swayed back to that thought.

I just thought I'd make this clear.

Oh and one more thing. Space and universes do not exist as we are told.

Yes, this could be also true, watch this video, guy who uploaded this video had used my "Kanchenjunga-Makalu-Bottle" experiment (taken out from "the Equator problem" thread), : (http://) ...in favor of the concave earth hypothesis...

So, when you see a decisive picture (the last one in this post http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=62199.msg1640968#msg1640968 (http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=62199.msg1640968#msg1640968)), then we have to come to the conclusion that the Earth is really SLIGHTLY concave, because too much of Kanchenjunga mountain protrudes above a red horizontal line...

What?

I am not a round Earther at all. You probably meant something else. I chose "Absolutely Yes".

However, the poll was about flat Earth theory not flat Earth. I can't say I agree with all the theory proposed by the flat Earth society. You can't believe in the theory, of course. The theory for instance says that the Earth is accelerating upward.

Please make a difference between flat Earth belief and flat Earth theory. The poll is simply misleading. It should have been asking: Do you believe the Earth is flat? instead of asking "Do you believe in flat Earth theory?".

The proof is here on the forum. When you've read it, you'll understand why it applies to most FE'ers (such as you) but not others (such as hoppy).
As Vauxhall and yourself are so fond of saying, do a search.  :P

At least we cleared that bit up. You see, I don't argue for the flat Earth theory, I argue for the flat Earth forum against shills and arrogant people who join forces to attempt to intimidate potential free thinkers out of gathering alternative knowledge.

The flat Earth theorists will tell you themselves that they can't stand me. I'm an idiot to them as much as I am to the global shills. I accept this of course, because I'm not here to be liked. I'm here to see people like you add some interesting input, as well as putting my thoughts in...amid the onslaught of those who wish to ridicule it all.

This is why I play them and I will not let the globalites win. They hanker for my banning because I'm a massive thorn in their side, because I won't back down and will always encourage free thinking.

I may not agree with all free thinkers but I am an ally to all free thinkers, even if it's just as an extra shoulder to lean on against what can be an overbearing mass of clowns tag teaming the globe model and attempted ridicule at any  person arguing against it.

Anyone can ridicule me or my thoughts; it's not a problem to me. I may not agree at first with many thoughts but my mind is always open to possibilities. You do an excellent job of destroying the global Earth indoctrination and I am learning from what you say, as well as taking in what others say (excluding globalites).

I have every respect for the flat Earth theorists in any form they take of the Earth. I may not agree with a lot and they may hate me or dislike me or simply find me a nuisance. That's all fine, because they play a fair game and allow free thinkers to post their thoughts. That's all I'm bothered about.

So on that note, I'm happy to see you posting on here, as well as saros, legion, new earth, hoppy and many more I haven't mentioned but who are equally relevant, including the regular flat Earth theorists that use this place as home.
The more out of the box thinkers - as well as people like you with a lot of logical scientific knowledge - make this place a more even playing field and gives potential new posters the chance to actually come into topics with an open mind, knowing people have their backs if they decide to argue against the indoctrinated globe model.

Too many of these globalists are back patting. It's about time we did the same and rocked them, because they've had it too easy for too long.
It's time for logic to take precedence over arrogance of parrots.

I think I've covered it all. Keep up the excellent work.

Absolutely! But it is not just preposterous, it is 100 % refuted FOR GOOD/ONCE AND FOR ALL/FOREVER, by a little help of my ZIGZAG argument!!!

SCEPTI SAYS :
Oh and one more thing. Space and universes do not exist as we are told.

Of course not!  :)

What to say besides : Thumbs up for every word that you have said!
So when is he going to rock us? I don't see any peer-reviewed papers here. Nor do I see even anything that disproves RE. He just rambled on. What kind of logic is it that millions of people are lying all for this stupid purpose of the shape of the earth.

Unfortunately for the poor lad, he's never gonna be able to "rock" us;  it's nothing more than wishful thinking on his part LOL.

As you say, there are no peer-reviewed papers cited here for the simple reason that not one exists. And again, no flat earther has ever been able to provide any empirical evidence that the oblate spheroid earth model could be considered doubtful even for a nanosecond.

A belief in a flat earth relies solely on personal opinion, guesswork, obfuscation, third-party hearsay, misinformation, scientific illiteracy, falsification, distortions of fact, and even a good measure of lies thrown into the pot for good measure.  You know... all the sorts of stuff that science abhors.

Every scientific tenet is supported by literally thousand of independent, non-vested peer reviews.  Every one of the planet's 6 million scientists accepts absolutely that the planet is an oblate spheroid.  Not one single accredited scientist has ever agreed to any doubt about the planet's geometry.

So any genuine flat earth "believers" on this board are in the infinitesimally tiny minority of the planet's 7 billion populace.

5 FET believers as of yet?  Seems like this site is pointless.  No map, and as it turns out no believers.

I am still waiting to see the covers of the books you have supposedly authored...

Why is it that you've not demanded the same from your flat earth peer sceptimatic?  He claims to have authored a dozen books, so why do you hold a round earther to a far higher standard of competency than a flat earther?

Your flat earth bias is showing... again.  Whoops!
You have RE bias, so what?

We hold ours to standards. If a REer spouts some ridiculous claim, we will ask for proof. FEers don't. That's "so what"

I voted YES, ABSOLUTELY!

: (http://)

The Earth is tilted on it's axis and the time lapse video taken just shows the sun is not centralized over the planet.  The spin of the Earth creates the zigzag effect you're stoked on.  It's not exactly ground breaking.  Depending on the location you shoot the video you can get a more dramatic and lower dip on the horizon.

Not everyone that believes the Earth is flat is a member of these forums.
Besides, why would you even be arguing if you knew for sure that the Earth is round?
It would appear that you have some doubt. Otherwise, what would be the point?
I remember when I was like you. Just admit that you're not sure.
The realization that you've been lied to for your whole life can be a little devastating.
That's why people like you kick and scream and resist everything that flies in the face of your indoctrination.

FEers always claim they can read minds.  I know without a shadow of a doubt that the earth is a spheroid.  I argue here to see if there is any hope for those still in the intellectual dark ages.  Sadly, at lest for the half dozen here, there appears to be no hope.  The arguments are just to far divorced from reality.

As a round earther, I visit this forum in the (probably vain) hope of educating those flat earthers with a broader perspective on our planet and the cosmos as to the facts and figures established by accredited scientists over the past five centuries or so that prove unequivocally that the planet is indeed an oblate spheroid.

Not all flat earthers on these forums are as delusional or ill-educated as saros or sceptimatic, or cikljamas or hoppy.

If I can at the very least encourage the better educated and more rational of the flat earthers to even consider for a moment that our planet could possibly be spherical, then I feel I'm not wasting my time debating with them on this forum.

Personally, I don't have anything to prove, and I've certainly never doubted the planetary scientific status quo at any time throughout my life.  I know that several flat earthers bring up the argumentum ad populum defence whenever I mention that all the world's estimated 6,000,000 accredited scientists all agree that the earth is spherical, but conversely they're unable to list even 6 scientists who believe the earth is flat—despite being asked numerous times.

And being of an amateur scientific bent, plus having worked in the civil/structural engineering disciplines all my working life, I have not the slightest doubt that the earth is spherical.  And why should I... particularly considering that the flat earthers have absolutely no contradictory evidence that they can bring to the table.

Though, this poll should go to show how outnumbered we are here.  Be patient with your questions.

Yes yes, I took a little poetic license.  But FET is 'in the noise', so effectively there are no FET believers.  I'm sorry that you don't exist, kind of a bummer.  And yes, woefully outnumbered.  But what normal folks would take as shameful, you are able to hold as a point of pride.

I'm sorry if the Flat Earth Society is too small to blip your radar, but you cannot categorically say that we do not exist just because we are few in numbers.

Saying that believers in FET don't exist is more accurate than saying the earth is flat.

Do you have evidence for this claim? The poll clearly states that there are at least 7 FE believers on this board.

Thank you, that's me evidence.  It was 5, now it's 7, still statistically insignificant.  FEers still don't exist.  You have been deleted by the 3 sigma outlier detection filter.

FET has been deleted from Science.  FET does not exist.  FEers don't even exist.  I know this comes as a shock to you.  As soon as it sinks in, the world will begin to grow dim and you will cease to even be a ghost.
