Title: Easy question from a newcomer
Post by: nicholasfukuoka on May 30, 2011, 07:47:20 PM
I have flown to Japan from the United States in both directions (over Asia and over the Pacific). How can this be explained with FET?

The earth is round, end of story.

Well, obviously. Just trying to not sound combative.

I know, but you did ask a question so I gave an answer.

the earth is a giant disc, see the united nations map for a rough estimation

Thanks for not being an angry noob like bradley :D. Anyway, the the most commonly accepted theory states that the Earth is a disk with the Artic at the center and Antartica as a 'wall' of sorts around the world.

Wouldn't this imply that pilots are in on the conspiracy? How would that work?

Also, why would the Earth's temperature be hottest around the equator - or going by the map referenced, a smaller circle inside the circular disc of the earth, while the cold bits are around the edges and in the center?

Well, you don't really notice the curvature for the same reason you don't notice the rounditude (?) of the Earth. Also, there's no way to navigate that wouldn't account for this. (Compasses will always be pointing to the North Pole, stars will still be giving the same readings, etc.)

EDIT: I'm not sure about that last question; you'll have to wait for someone else's answer tomorrow. But for most of your questions, you can probably find the answers in the FAQ (in the stickies, with a more comprehensive one called 'wiki' on the main page)

Lol thank you that was my goal, I have succeeded. *sarcasm* I truly didn't mean to come off sounding like an angry noob, I apologize.

Also - why do flat-Eartheans believe the sun to revolve around the disc-shaped Earth rather than the other way around. Surely that would work just as well, and it would account for the cosmic discrepancies that existed pre-Copernicus.

Because gravity would bend a disk-earth into a sphere over billions of years. Thus it's believed that UA, or Universal Acceleration, causes what is referred to as gravity. According to Einstein's Uncertainty Principle, it's exactly the same. You must admit, science can't actually explain gravity.

I don't think you mean the uncertainty principal - maybe relativity? That being said, that wasn't really what I was talking about (nor was Copernicus, seeing as how he came before Einstein). I was referring to the observable relationships between the Earth, Sun and other planets. With an Earth-centric model, the other planets seem to follow strange paths, sometimes reversing their direction. With a heliocentric model, those discrepancies are resolved to an incredibly precise degree, showing the planets to make perfectly elliptical orbits around the sun.

Well, that's pretty convenient as most observers I know think that the "solar system" is heliocentric. I'm not sure what your beef is.

Correct. The Solar System is also Heliocentric in the FE model. The planets are revolving around the sun.

It'd be a pretty poor "solar" system if it wasn't.

Einstein's Uncertainty Principle? Please, for the love of God, or whatever big immortal and apparently immoral thing you believe in, get your facts straight. Einstein himself disputed quantum physics, ( "God does not roll dice" ) but you claim it's his principle... Does the name Werner Heisenber say anything to you?

Also, how can you say gravity does not exist? How would you explain black holes then, which have been observed and proved to exist both by the Hawking Radiation and even our Milky Way's central Black hole as it launched a jet of energy, caused by it's magnetic force that comes from its rotation.

1. Yes.
2. It couldnt.

You were probably drugged.

Or I suppose it's just coincidence that a "pressurised" cabin is the perfect anaesthetic gas administering device.

What would the drugging or anesthesia accomplish?  ???

Once you're drugged they can do anything they want to you. Usually they just set your watch back or forward (as required) in order that the correct period of time appears to have elapsed, in accordance with round earth theory.

No wonder I feel so groggy after those long flights!

Do they change the clocks at your destination too?

so all the airlines and travel companies are in on this conspiracy too? by my count, it seems that the entire world would have to be in on this conspiracy in order to fool the handful of people left who don’t ‘know’ the world is really a flat disc. So what’s the point in this cover up then?
