So, did someone from this website start the idea of there being a big Conspiracy? When did it start?
-
It was a necessary element if you wanted to believe in a flat earth. It's that simple. I think most of the flat earth believers arrived to that conclusion on their own.

"Conspiracy" has been a common 'filler' for unknown or inexplicable phenomena, theories, etc. Basically, it's just an excuse; an easy way out. Anyone can shout "Conspiracy!", but few can defend their arguments scientifically and logically.
Basically, the Conspiracy doesn't exist, and neither does a flat Earth.

Yeah, I know. But it seems like most conspiracies would have a starting point. Did it just start after pictures from space showing a round earth, or all the way back to say, Newton and the Theory of Gravity? Did people think there was a conspiracy a 100 years ago, or is it recent?
-
It was invented when it turned convenient (i.e. when they needed an excuse). I don't really know when that was, but I'm not really sure how significant or relevant that is.
-
It's not, I guess. I just wondered.

Nothin' wrong with wondering :)

Interesting question, I would suppose the conspirators were the originators.

Unless the Conspiracy didn't exist and was rather simply the most convenient excuse for FE'ers as to why photos from space prove the round Earth. ::)

That is certainly one school of thought.

In case of this site, I think it's likely it was started just before the FAQ were posted

The conspirators started the conspiracy theory?

I guess it really doesn't matter. After looking at a lot of information about space, I find it very hard to believe that anyone would go to such lengths to fake a space program. I don't really think anything anyone says could convince me otherwise. If nothing else, at least this site got me interested in space exploration.

.. to boldly go where (according to this site) no man has gone before..
that's the spirit of a true pioneer

I don't know also :)
