With that in mind we could talk about measures that would actually bring down tensions instead of inflaming them. This should be very simple but apparently our best and brightest can't figure it out so I will walk you through it slowly.
When something like this happens and people get upset, calling the people who are upset racist inflames tensions. Having an honest conversation about immigration and crime cools the tension.
What the UK are doing currently having a national conversation about their polices racism training cools tensions. Everyone talks about how Elon Musk is apparently trying to start a revolution, but no one talks about how calling people racist after something like this happens does far more to incite a revolution.
We are apparently either to believe that the people in charge don't understand this because they are really, really stupid or they just want violent unrest.

If you want violent riots you call the people who get upset when something happens that is upsetting for a reasonable person racist.
Sure fire way to get riots.
However if you want to avoid riots then a different tact is necessary.

Sorry if the video offended anyone but we had to watch George Floyds murder, 24/7 for nearly a month so I thought it would be ok. This guy is in hospital in a serious condition but hes alive. We watched a police officer literally choke the life out of an otherwise healthy George Floyd on the news and no one thought it was graphic or shouldnt be played hundreds of times per day.
Youre welcome to delete the link, I just think the footage is being suppressed for political reasons rather than because it's graphic.

Let’s compare one Nigel Farage’s reaction with the rape and murder of Sarah Everard by police officer Wayne Couzens. Couzens used his authority as a police officer to handcuff Everard, then he drove her out of town, raped her, strangled her, burned her body and dumped the remains in a pond.
Lots of people were understandably upset. There were peaceful vigils (some violating Covid restrictions, but peaceful), people wanted to know if there were any previous red flags about Couzens (there were lots).
Farage said it was important not for it to turn into attacks on men or the police (even though that wasn’t happening): “When we saw the Couzens case, I thought it was horrific, but you know what, you’re going to get one bad person in any large group of people.”
All the voice of reason when it’s a white perpetrator. We can’t judge whole groups of people on the actions of individuals, etc, etc. But when it’s a foreigner or a Muslim or some other minority, he calls for “cold hard rage”. Because he’s a fucking RACIST.

I asked about this in the other thread. I think I get what D1 is saying. The politicians are either riling people up, or telling people to keep calm. The riling up messages are working better than the keep calm messages. The first has the benefit of graphic video to go along with the message. I think those wanting calm need a better strategy.

There are vastly more people not rioting than rioting. We’ll know if the racist politicians message is working for them when we see if their polling goes up or down as a result.
But some things just come down to right and wrong. Those calling for calm, including the families of both recent victims are right, and those inciting violence are very wrong. Agree or disagree?
