Recalling the brawl to police, Jarvio said that "I straddled him, full guard I think they call it in MMA" and, in the kind of unorthodox fighting technique one might expect from a Flat Earther, "I pulled his glasses off, because I figured he needed his glasses."

When asked why he had tried to trash Jarvio's display, the man explained that he "was upset by this theory because he is a physicist and the Earth is not flat." In turn, officers informed him that such consternation did not give him the right to throw the posters, which were Jarvio's property.

The flat farther was taken away in handcuffs, but so what? Do you think that altercation proves anything? What it does prove is flat earth stories are as rare as hens teeth and you'll jump at the merest irrelevant morsel!
Does it prove his claims were correct, no. The only thing it did prove is that he is most likely from Kentucky in an illegal vehicle with fake tags.
The guy who assaulted him, an alleged scientist, or was it a put up job? may well have been another nut job like the flat earther.
What I find astonishing is you come over as being pretty right on and sensible in all your non flat earth related posts....and then BSC when it comes to anything to do with the flat earth.

Ultimately, it would seem that cooler heads prevailed and both men were sent their separate ways without further incident or anyone being arrested for the wild encounter. And while it is uncertain whether or not the skeptic ever apologized to the conspiracy theorist for tossing his posers to the ground, one could say that his 'critique' backfired spectacularly as the encounter likely wound up garnering Jarvio far more attention than he anticipated when he set up his display outside the building. To that end, the conspiracy theorist says he plans to stick around Kent State for a while and share his ideas with the students, who will hopefully refrain from fighting him again.

The two men were separated when police arrived—an officer explained to the unidentified male that he could not throw a person’s property to the ground because he did not agree with the message, the report stated. At the same time, police ran both men’s IDs through the Law Enforcement Automated Data System, a police database operated by the Ohio Highway Patrol. The unidentified male’s ID came back but Jarvio’s did not, since he is from Kentucky. After retrieving Jarivo’s ID, police noticed “the top of the Kentucky driver’s license said something to the effect of, ‘not for real ID purposes,’” so they placed Jarvio in handcuffs to detain him, according to the report.

Yes there is. Apparently he had no id and when the cops looked at his truck they discovered illegal Kentucky tags, hence the handcuffs.
