I've seen a few arguments pertaining to the Moon on here and YT, so I thought I'd see where your heads are at...
Obviously, if you believe the Sun and Moon are at the same altitude, and the Sun can apparently only point down, then the light from the Moon must not be coming from the Sun. So, either the Moon gives off it's own light, which seems to be the position of most FEarthers, or something else is lighting up the Moon, which we couldn't/haven't detected.
There also appears to be this idea that the Moon gives off some sort of "cool light" bullshit, but I've only seen that confirmed with some terrible testing methods...
Anywho, the real question is, how do you explain shadows on the Moon if it's giving off it's own light?
My question focuses, primarily, on the craters, and such, on the Moon, not other objects casting a shadow on the Moon, fyi.
This is a picture I took with my own telescope:
(https://jnnouw-sn3301.files.1drv.com/y3mP5qVqbkcWapdCxNSi4P12sh8FOJQn2_Jl69ycLR7_cuNl4Hq37cOoWJ1eMLmdWOwmBfG8WRgu8A9k1NslY7mwxYnqJyS90RHdb2-aNxPF4WvyYg9vf5YIUU0egh4xCXMsZvSdYXsoWMQageI760Ndwnu06c2tGNzh-YHiCcc0d8?width=660&height=552&cropmode=none)
Sorry, I don't have an ideal setup for photographing through the telescope...

Nothing? No opinions about the Moon?

The ORBISIMS/Lunas like the sun. They gather in places where they have a direct line of sight to it.

So lots of little Moon people? Makes sense... lol

Shadows on the moon don't work like shadows on Earth. We can only experience and measure shadows within our own reality (Earth), so we have no reason to believe that the same phenomenon works the same on the moon. The shadows may be caused by curved light paths or by relativity. Just a couple of ideas. Great photo by the way!

Anyway, this is incorrect. The lunas and the solas are mortal enemies.

Well, I don't believe the moon is self illuminating. I believe it has critters on it that make light. The crater walls would still cast shadows. Also, you are taking pictures of their bedrooms, you perv.

"Shadows on the moon don't work like shadows on Earth."
How can you make such a claim? The shadows appear to work EXACTLY as they do on the Earth, and we have no evidence or explanation of any other process for how shadows could work... So this looks a hell of lot like ad hoc reasoning...
The relativity explanation sounds a little better, but only because I'm no expert on relativity. But I feel pretty confident that relativity would not be able to explain light doing a 180...

It is true. They are called moonshrimps. People have talked with them.

*moonshramp
They are telepathic creatures from afar. One day, I hope I may be lucky enough to be chosen by them as a communication vessel. One day. *sigh*

So!!!! We've got water and oxygen, too!
Fine, it's obviously a ridiculous explanation, but please enlighten me....
How exactly do these critters glow?
Why do they glow?
How is the light so even distributed?
Why are there shadows from the craters and other geography?
Why do those shadows all line up?
Why do those shadows all appear to originate from the sun?
Why do they glow is perfect harmony with the location of the sun?
How could this, even remotely, be a simpler and more rational explanation for shadows on the moon?!?!?!!?

-They glow because they accumulate the radioactive material they feed on.
-They are evenly distributed, because they evenly inhabit the moon surface.
-I'm sure Space Cowgirl can explain the shadows easily.

Anyway, this is incorrect. The lunas and the solas are mortal enemies.
I did not want to do this.. there are children out there... but okay, here is the truth:
The lunas observe the sols all the time, carefully and patiently waiting for an opportunity to strike. Soon they will attack and the world will go dark as they annihilate each other in the great war of light. The end is near!

No, relativity wouldn't explain anything. I could say that buoyancy could explain the shadows, and it would make as much sense as daftpunk's claim.

KAMI! The lunas contacted you? Stay safe out there.

I was looking for rational explanations for the Moon from FEarthers, and I got fairy tales......

Not yet.. just thinking.. The lunas seem to gather in places where they can observe the sols (as one can clearly see in this image and others.
As they are mortal enemies, this is the most likely explanation.
-
-They glow because they accumulate the radioactive material they feed on.
-They are evenly distributed, because they evenly inhabit the moon surface.
Not to mention that they are clearly in on the conspiracy: why else would their migratory patterns illuminate the moon so that it exactly fits with the round earth model?
-
The even distribution is probably luna poop.

The FE is a FANTASY. Anything can happen. No need for proof/evidence. You don't even need a single model. Everyone has there own (without proof of course).

Well then thy must be hip deep in it by now.

Seems legit. But all of this talk about the impending luna/sola show-down and subsequent light apocalypse has me concerned. Perhaps the penguins aren't something to worry about, after all. I mean, when the battle finally begins, it seems likely that it will literally be raining shit on everyone, because there must be a lot of lunas and solas and, well, nature will call. Then it will get dark. And cold probably. And we'll all still be covered in tiny moonshramp/sunshramp excrement, plus we'll be slipping in it every time we take a step.
I mean... really... all of this is very bad. The penguins ain't got nuthin on the shramps.

A scary scenario indeed.
Lets hope we do not live long enough to witness it.

Indeed. Which is why we should all vote Trump.
Not only will he get tough on moonshramp (he's building a wall round the moon) he also bring about the End Times.

I guess I should have specified at the beginning, that I was interested in real explanations, not ideas about glowing shit filled moon shrimp!!
Please go away spacegirl, you're wrecking my thread...

You can not expect a serious answer to something contradictory fet.
It is obvious that the moon is Illuminated by the sun.
But Lunas are just so cute!

Well I suppose that's where I struggle most with these people, but as the saying goes,
"You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into."
I just can't accept that though, I care too much........

jroa,
You see, there is this thing called a "thread". It is the conversation leading up to where we are now. It contains things like information and context. Without those things, you can sound like an idiot when you post, like you have just done.
I would expect you, of all people, to understand the basics of a forum, jroa.
-
Thank you for telling me what a thread is, nut job. Perhaps next, you will explain the sky or maybe the ocean?

If the moon and sun are only 5000km away and not 400,000km(moon distance) away wouldn't the reflected sun-light coming of the earth light up the whole moon?
-
No, the sun is more like a spotlight.
-
If the moon and sun are only 5000km away and not 400,000km(moon distance) away wouldn't the reflected sun-light coming of the earth light up the whole moon?
Actually, this does happen. Whenever you see the sun and moon in the sky at the same time, it's always a full moon, because it's reflecting the earth.
-

Perhaps next, you will actually try to answer somebody's question, instead of just derailing and avoiding conversations?

Not in real life, sorry... If you want to make statements like that, you're going to have to support them with evidence. Fairy tales aren't evidence.

No it's not!

I took this through the telescope 2 days ago, during the day, No Full Moon! Sorry about the black around it, that's a result of taking a pic through the eyepiece with my cellphone. But, as you can see, immediately around the Moon, is blue. (Hopefully anyways, but if not, there's plenty of photos showing this)

Ha I'm not angry, although it is irritating that you think anyone should take you seriously. No evidence, no debate, and this is the debate forum....

Ha I'm not angry,
Don't worry, the "angry globularist" shit is just one of their "hilarious" memes.
The lovely SpaceCowgirl aside, the rest of the flatties usually seem furious about something..
