Title: Just some videos I like
Post by: Mikey T. on March 26, 2015, 07:44:46 PM
Well I have a few videos that I like that I can't find any FE reasons to disprove there effects, therefore they must be faked and part of the conspiracy per FE guidelines.  LOL
Anyway this first one is an experiment on the ISS with a washcloth and water.
this next one is from the ISS dealing with water again, playing with a goPro putting it in the water bubble.
The last one is showing curvature of the Earth in a good way by using a camera and a distant island.

Just sharing stuff, I put it in the debate forum because each video will probably be debated.

Can anyone who believes in the conspiracy explain some of these videos?

Nope?
I guess they are all fake then.

I am going to watch those videos when I get home later today.

For the first couple, it is possible to simulate zero gravity on Earth, in a plane descending with enough speed. FEers will probably just say those videos were taken like that, possibly from several such journeys with footage stitched together (there are a couple of cuts). Then they just lip-synced to replace the audio. Or it's all just cg.
I expect their evidence would be "They sound surprised in the second one! How can they be amazed if they've been in space for a while? Must be fake."

Good videos though.

Really all you have to do is show a video from space that's a few minutes long, single camera angle with no cutaways.  Even simulating zero G in a plane you can't dive for 5 minutes straight. The "vomit comet" only gives you less than a minute of zero G

The planes that they tell you about can't dive for 5 minutes, but what about the ones that they do not tell you about?

For a plane to go high enough to make some of the videos I have seen it would need to go as high as space, making it a space ship, meaning that they are not faking space travel.

So, are you claiming that rockets or other crafts can not go as high as space?  I am happy to argue this with you, but you seem to be moving the goal posts all over the place.  It would be nice to stay on one subject for a little while.

No, I am saying that if NASA is sending things to space then that means that they are not faking space travel because they are doing actual space travel.

Going as high as "space" and coming back down =/= sustained space travel nor orbit.  I am not sure what you are having a problem understanding here.  Do I need to use smaller words for you?

I have watched the videos and to make it easier for the flat earthers I took 2 screenshots from the 3rd video demonstrating the curvature of the Earth.  Here they are:

This is the island from the higher elevation:

This is the island from sea level:

And here is the video if you haven't seen it yet and you are too lazy to scroll up:
A video showing the curvature of the earth (http://#ws)

I can't wait to see what creative ways the flat earthers explain this evidence.

Okay I'll bite. So you're saying sustained orbit/travel is not possible, but going as high as "space" (we'll say the Karman Line?) is possible?
Simple yes or no.

When will people learn that jroa will not let you back him into a corner.   He evades with the skill of a grand master.  For this level of skill I have seen him invoke, I respect him.  I disagree with pretty much all of his ideas, but he is still the grand master of evasion and snide one liners and for that I tip my hat to him.

I know the word isn't in your dictionary, but i'll take that as a "yes".

So if we can "go" to space, I wouldn't be surprised if someone wanted to take pictures from that altitude. This might (playing along, they're actually taken from all sorts of locations in outer space) be where the millions of pictures when you search for "earth from space" come from. So why are all of them showing a spherical Earth?......

None of them show a spherical Earth.  They are all composites.  In other words, they take a bunch of small pictures, and arrange them into the shape that they want you to believe the Earth is shaped like.  The one exception is that Blue Marble picture.  You know, the one which has been proven to have been filmed through a cutout in construction paper to make it look like a far away sphere.

There are plenty of non-composite images of Earth, especially from the International Space Station where they send back pictures almost daily.  Also, what is this proof you speak of which supposedly proves the blue marble picture to be fake?

Non-composite photos of the whole Earth in one picture?  Please, oh wise one, enlighten us.

It's pretty easy to deduce that it is a sphere from these NON-composite pictures.

(YES one or two of them have a slight "fish-eye" effect. NO, that doesn't mean you can completely shut your brain down and not imagine it with slightly less curvature)
