Hello,
While reading this forum, I noticed that many of troll claim always the same thing : we don't have "proofs" that the earth is flat. Therefore, I thought that one solution would be to make a real travel to the edge of the Earth and take picture and other "scientific proofs" that this edge is real. However, many people today will just say that the earth is not flat because of social pressure and would feel ashamed to say it's not rounded. Crowdfunding (like Kickstarter) allow them to give money in anonymously. Some projects are given many billions of dollars, so it's totally possible.
Of course, such an expedition would be very hard to prepare, so for now it's just an idea. What do you think about it?

I'm not sure how crows would help.
I suppose we could attach cameras to them, but they don't really fly high enough.

I edited the first post.

No. I have to disagree that "many people" maintain that the earth is spherical because of "social pressure".
It's actually the miniscule percentage of flat earth proponents who are fighting against social pressure. The round earth proponents have 99.99999% of the population in agreement with them—why would they feel "ashamed"?
Can you name for us one single contemporary, accredited astrophysicist who proposes that the earth is flat? You have upwards of 6 million scientists worldwide to choose from, so it shouldn't be all that difficult to name even half a dozen should it?
-
Well the post is about bringing proof to you, rounded earth believer. So please, i'd be glad that we keep focusing on the main subject.

Ha... this is a very neat (but obvious) way of avoiding answering my question. Well done!
I'll ask you again:

Of course it's obvious that I didn't want to answer your question since I explicitly said that. I don't want to debate here but talking about the subject. Btw I said many people don't want to say the Earth is flat to not be ashamed and you ask me to name these people, which is intrinsically impossible. While they don't say what they think it's impossible to identify them. That's why Crowdfunding is well adapted.

Spoilsport :D
It is a decent idea though, but I doubt you'd get very many funders.
-
That will never happen, because no FEer will ever leave his/her cave/basement.
If they want, they would have done this 100 times till today.

So apparently it IS true that you cannot "name for us one single contemporary, accredited astrophysicist who proposes that the earth is flat?"
You're obviously side-stepping a fairly simple question that you could answer in a dozen words if you chose to. Why is this?
Surely if you could name a few such scientists it'd reinforce your flat earth argument significantly, and yet you're avoiding doing so. To me, this implies that you're unable to because there are none.
Care to prove me wrong?

The idea of an expedition is fascinating. This trip could clarify things.
This project will be hard to realize. According to you, what be like such a mission? In what direction should she set sail?
-
Seeing the ice dome up close is on my bucket list. Happy to take part in any crowd funding that will make this a reality.
-
As a Round Earther, I might pay for this. Maybe this way you will see the truth and stop talking nonsense. But If you realised the Earth is round, you would probably just sht up, or believe you are hallucinating or something like that
-
Well what you are describing...already happen countless times. First time in the 1520s by Ferdinand Magellan and countless times after that ;)
If anyone from the believers in flat earth managed to go for that expedition, he would just find out what everyone already knows, then he would either be ashamed of his own stupidity and pretend he really reached the edge of the world, or say the truth, in which case flat earthers would claim that he is a scammer that participates in the conspiracy xD

Any direction should do it.
