If acceleration is true, than when a plane is launched up into the air and maintains a height whilst the Earth is accelerating upwards, this would mean the Earth is coming up to the plane wouldn't it? And in order for the plane to maintain the height above ground level this would mean the plane is ALSO accelerating upwards at the same (or faster) rate than the Earth, right? How is a plane moving vertically? Not to mention another factor where you have the pressure from the air coming down on the plane, which would cause a like a double force. What is the explanation for this?

The air is being accelerated upward by the earth.

The air is being accelerated upward by the earth.
/thread, Also, HAI! Are you back forever?

The air is being accelerated upward by the earth.
That, however, is wrong. If the air were being accelerated along with the earth, there'd be no atmospheric pressure (which is caused by the weight of the atmosphere pushing on the surface).
The Earth is pushing the air up due to its acceleration, which is the same thing as the air pushing on the surface of the RE.

Inertia. Think of when your driving your car. Your car is moving, and you are in your car, so you move. People, the air, and planes are all on the earth, so they are all moving at the same speed as the earth. Also, the earth is not excelerating; in order for it to excelerate, something would have to be moving it.
you can see planes fly. the proof is right infront of you. try googling how planes fly.

Nice first post. Welcome to FES. You have some work to do.
-
How so?

I'm assuming you believe in a round Earth since you said the Earth is not accelerating. This question is aimed at Flat Earthers, who believe the Earth is accelerating upwards. I am asking a question about how this acceleration would work with things that are supposed to be sustained in air.
-
Oh, so you think the earth is flat too? well, i show your right. your welcome :)

The Earth is flat.

Do you have dish network? turn it to channel 212. i win

The air is being accelerated upward by the earth.
The Earth is pushing the air up due to its acceleration, which is the same thing as the air pushing on the surface of the RE.
I don't see any contradictions between these two statements.

No, he's actually a troll.
You really believe the Earth is FLAT? Really? No I'm serious, do you really believe that? I am face palming myself so much that I'm bleeding. What is wrong with you people?!? My guess,
Because some people are at war with science. They want to disbelieve so badly that they will take anything available to "prove" their anti-science position. They will conduct poor experiments that "prove" their position. They ignore ten thousand experiments put forth by science and accept their "data."
If you think a flat earth is crazy how about a concave Earth. The Koreshans believe that the Earth and universe are contained within a concave sphere, or 'cell'. The Koreshans even conducted several experiments that "proved" their point.
There are many biblical references that imply a flat Earth. One of the most direct is, Matthew 4:8, ?Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.? But, you can?t see the entire world from a mountain - unless the Earth is flat! Is that why you believe so? For religious purposes? I am on the verge of insanity here.

lol, that was like my first post. when did I say I believe the earth is flat?? sorry but I'm confused here.

yes I know that. those quotes are in response to what Ski said, not what you said.

Yeah, lift is a real force, and the same rules would apply equally on a round or flat earth. One academic quarter in classical mechanics would clear up all confusion to someone who thinks round earth and flat earth don't match up with respect to airplane flight, smoke, clouds, gas, etc.
