This thread proves the earth is round.

The FAQ has addressed these issues.

I, personally, believe that Global Warming is a simple cycle of our planet.  Since we only have accurate temperature records relatively recently, its very hasty in my opinion to be concluding that this is an unnatural problem.  (*glares at The Day After Tommorow*)

I do, however, believe that air-quality is a problem.  If the amount of carbon-dioxide increases in our air, there could be substantial problems to our health.

It will. That's why the conspiracy doesn't want us to know about it - society wouldn't let them do this if they knew the future of the Earth was at stake.

global warming isnt a cycle. the gulf stream is a cycle

Considering we did not have accurate temperature readings thousands of years ago...

We cannot be certain this is not a natural cycle.  We need more time and more evidence that supports that this is not a cycle before we go off spouting that its a dangerous man-made problem.

I also wish to point out that the Global Warming Theory is starting to lose weight in the scientific community, if that means anything today.  Global Warming is now more politics than science.

true but....   the gulf stream is stopping due to the selinty of the ocean because of the melting ice in greenland. this will damage the climates all over the the world. a new ice age. thats why global warming is losing its intrest

That's the answer I was looking for.  Yes, the Salinity of the ocean could cause a problem.

But most dogmatic followers of the theory won't even point this out.

So what's gonna happen to the government penguins? And the 'security'.

I say that global warming should be perceived like global warning, cause we have to stop using noxious gasеs.

Global warming is, quite simply, a hoax.

Global warming is not a hoax. The Earth's temperature is not going to raise notably in the next tens of years, but it is constantly and slowly and in the end we will end up in a really hot oven.

What I'm saying is that this is probably more of a natural cycle than something we did.

Assuming it is not isn't a good idea since we don't have accurate temperature records from a long time ago to compare.

We could very well be speeding up this natural process, but I believe that's all it is.

You could be right, but since we do have some evidence that it could human caused, and as of yet no evidence that it's not, I'm going to lean more towards human caused. I would much rather be proven wrong about it being human caused than be proven wrong about it being a natural cycle.

The earth is definately getting warmer, but there is no scientific evidence that humans are the cause if it. This is something that left-wing enviro-nuts just "ignore". There is no evidence that it is anymore then just a climate cycle. during the 1970s we were worried about global cooling. And during the 1920s, we were concerned about global warming, although there wasn't as many left-winged environuts around then to make it seem like a big deal.

First off, there was no concern in the 1970s about global warming. What happened was that a few scientists said that they had noticed a trend of cooling over a period of a few years. Then some magazine got ahold of it and blew it way out of proportion.

The problems I have with it being just a natural cycle is that a cycle must have a cause. As of yet no evidence has been shown for such a cause. And if good evidence is found to show that it really is just a cycle, then it must be explained why a 30% increase in CO2 emissions would have no effect on it.

I agree that it may well just be a cycle, that the earth is just going through one of many cooling and warming periods. But as of yet the best evidence is pointing towards human caused or human influenced. So I'll cautiously accept that as the best theory thus far.

I hate to say this, but your post seems like a direct quote from Rush Limbaugh.

i haven't listened to rush in like... over a year. He makes good points sometimes, but my political awareness has outgrown his polarizing nature. it's just very adolesent. You will catch me going after right-wingers on these boards also, just check some of my past postings.

as for everything else. I'm not saying that humans may be the cause, but i'm not saying they aren't. There just isn't enough convincing evidence for me or most climatologists. Maybe we are in a warming cycle and we are making it more intense, i'm not sure. But seeing that fucking movie with al gore talking about how people are causing hurricanes and leeching off the loss of people like myself(my apartment was destroyed in katrina) in an attempt to validate himself politcally once again pisses me off.

I believe air quality is a much greater problem than global warming, even if proven, could ever become.
