Greetings Society!
Reading the FAQ you claim that the other celestial bodies have a gravitational pull on us, causing the illusion that when we distance ourselves from the supposed gravity of the Earth, it appears that "gravity" loosens its grip on us.
However, you also mention that the Earth is not a body that causes gravitational pull. As far as I'm aware though, gravity is something that all bodies are affected by and affect other bodies, no matter how big or small. How come then that the Earth, which still has to be quite a big celestial body, does NOT affect other objects through gravity?
-
Universal Acceleration and dark energy.
-
In our frame of reference, the effects of "gravity" we perceive is basically caused by the upward acceleration of the Earth. Drop an object and the Earth accelerates toward it. The Earth does not emit its own gravitational field.

But what causes the sky to stay up there, if the Earth is accelerating towards it?
-
The atmolayer is also being accelerated by the Earth.
-
The atmolayer is also being accelerated by the Earth.
can you explain how that is possible?
-
The atmolayer is also being accelerated by the Earth.
Oh, why are they the only being accelareted by the Earth then? I would think it was just some upwards acceleration from underneath the Earth, but if the atmolayer is also accelareted upwards, that means you would hover inside a cloud (if you flew in there fx, or jumped out with a parachute

How is that not possible? The atmolayer still has mass; it's the same thing as standing inside an elevator going up.

I don't hover because every time I leave the surface of the Earth, it accelerates toward me. Like the atmolayer, I'm also being pushed by the Earth when I come in contact with the ground.

Okay you say that any time anything is dropped or thrown in the air, the earth moves towards it? Then how is it possible for the earth to stay the same distance from the sun and other planets in our solar system if it is constantly moving up?
-

don't worry they'll make something up

Oh, we didn't have to make anything up. Einstein created the theory of General Relativity, on which all this is based. Read the FAQ.

They are accelarating as well.

wow

universal acceleration is your claim for gravity? This couldn't possibly have to do with proven centrifugal force could it? Nah, why would centrifugal force prove gravity? Or, lets throw out the electromagnetic field that surrounds all of the earth. That must not have anything to do with poles, or polar opposites.
-
Contradiction = hilarious.
-
However, you also mention that the Earth is not a body that causes gravitational pull.
I'm in the minority opinion that the earth does produce gravitation (it must as it has mass and contributes to the stress-energy-momentum tensor), but this terrestrial gravitation is negligible.
As far as I'm aware though, gravity is something that all bodies are affected by and affect other bodies, no matter how big or small. How come then that the Earth, which still has to be quite a big celestial body, does NOT affect other objects through gravity?
Size does not equal mass/energy.

If the earth is accelerating, then according to your theory "gravity" would become stronger as the velocity of the earth increases due to accelleration.
-
If the earth is accelerating, then according to your theory "gravity" would become stronger as the velocity of the earth increases due to accelleration.
In our frame of reference, the Earth's acceleration is always 9.8m/s2. See: relativity of simultaneity.

In our frame of reference, the Earth's acceleration is always 9.8m/s2. See: relativity of simultaneity.
Then you cannot call it acceleration. Acceleration is an increase of velocity, it cannot be sustained, and be labeled as acceleration. Even if the acceleration were to stay at a constant speed or 9.8 m/s 2, the velocity is still increasing, at a rate of 9.8 m/s 2. So if you start 9.8, after a second, you are at 19.8 m/s 2. Which would increase gravity every second that passes. Unless time doesn't exist now, then that is impossible.
-
If there's no air resistance to the object, then the object should appear as floating.
If you accelerate an object and there is nothing to stop it, that object will retain its speed constantly until infinity.

Learn the difference between acceleration and velocity.
-
Constant acceleration leads to a constant increase of velocity.
-
And?

Are you having difficulty distinguishing velocity and acceleration?
-
And?
Learn what words mean.
If an object has constant acceleration, that means that it's velocity is constantly increasing, at a standard rate all the time. If you accelerate at 1mph, then you will eventually hit 2 mph, then 3, and so on. That's basic math/physics. Newton's law states that an object in motion, stays in motion unless it is acted on by an outside force. So unless you are going to say that the Dark Energy causes a fricitonal wave across the Earth and doesn't allow it to accelerate past 9.8 m/s 2, then you are just an idiot.
-
Wait, I see your point... lol
Still, I just need to get one thing straight.
If you accelerate an object, i.e. throw a ball and there's nothing resisting that acceleration, will the ball continue its acceleration constantly?
RoundEarth420, 9.8 m/s? is not velocity.

I'm certainly not about to make sure all my numbers are correct, but the point I made still stands. Acceleration increases velocity. If you have constant acceleration, then you have a constant increasing velocity. Also, your question is one of Newton's laws. An object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by outside source.
-
If I throw a ball at "V" velocity, ignoring air resistance, it will retain "V" velocity.
-
It stays in motion, but does it "stay in" acceleration?
-
If I throw a ball at "V" velocity, ignoring air resistance, it will retain "V" velocity.
That doesn't take into account acceleration. If you throw a ball at V velocity, you have to take into account the acceleration it takes to move that ball from 0 m/s to V. That acceleration will stay constant, and the velocity will continue to increase.
-
I've never thrown a ball and had it continue to accelerate after leaving my hand. Are you sure about that?
-
I've never thrown a ball and had it continue to accelerate after leaving my hand. Are you sure about that?
100%. You live in a world with an atmosphere. There is a thing called air. That air causes resistance, which causes friction, which causes deceleration.
Have you ever thrown a ball in a complete vacuum? No, so of course it doesn't continue to accelerate.
-
Air resistance?
No.
Okay then.
Relative acceleration substitute for gravity still stands.
Now please! Someone respond to my limited radar range thread. :(
-
Assuming a vacuum, what force is causing this acceleration after it leaves my hand?
-
Exactly.
Point refuted.
-
Assuming a vacuum, what force is causing this acceleration after it leaves my hand?
Nothing, you've already imparted acceleration to have it go from V=0 to V=V. That acceleration will never dampen, or dissipate, as long as there is no outside force acting on it. Which means that it will constantly accelerate.
-

Air resistance certainly exists in FE.
If you accelerate an object, i.e. throw a ball and there's nothing resisting that acceleration, will the ball continue its acceleration constantly?
Theoretically, without balancing forces, yes. However, no matter how fast you throw the ball, the Earth will catch up to it in the same manner as in RE: a constant acceleration of 9.8m/s2. Taking interference into account, the ball will lose energy due to non-conservative interactions.

What about it?

They are accelarating as well.
So every single thing every where is accelerating so you cant tell anything is accelerating? Oh such a perfect theory, that is like saying we are all just dreaming but because every one is dreaming no one really knows we are dreaming.
-

Pretty much.

Or so it is, according to philosopher Descartes.

So there is no possible way to prove that anything is accelerating because there is no point of reference because everything is accelerating. Yet you still believe it when there is no possible way to prove it EVER.
-

Nice move my man, nice move. I have come to my senses and you know what? the earth is flat!! WTF was i thinking? I say we start a FET truth movement. You could make t-shirts and im sure alex jones would be in YES!!! Im so excited I HAVE JUST BEEN REBORN AHHHHH!!! BETTER THAN SECKS

This topic does bring up a good point about gravity. May of already been mentioned but, howcome other planets have gravity but we dont, I mean like physics are UNIVERSAL. What is it about the earth that makes it not have gravity/gravitational field? Its just made of the same elements as other planets so why should it not have gravity?
