Post by: SourMilk on May 14, 2009, 07:55:47 PM
okay, so if the sun is only a spotlight for the earth, how then does it light up the other planets as well?

Are you suggesting it is all together impossible for another light source to light those planets?

Ok...
So what is this "other light source" then?

And for the illumination of the planets to indicate a light source coming from the same position as the sun?

Yet not be the sun?

This is gonna be interesting. Proceed.

The sun could act like a spotlight that shines on *gasp* two locations.

Except the idea of a spotlight is that it directs the light onto one location.

So now its a spotlight sun with the spotlight taken off. Got it.

I've always advocated for a "normal sun, that acts like a spotlight.

Um. You can't have both.

Normal sun (no spotlight)

Spotlight sun.

Choose.

You can't have a pen and a pencil. You either have the *much harder to breakness* of a pen,or the erase-ability of a pencil.

Narrow minded people like you are why the Holocaust happened.

But on a more serious note, I said that it is like a "normal" sun, that acts like a spotlight.

Yes and I've said you can either have a normal sun, or a spotlight sun. These kinds of things are called "mutually exclusive".

Example: I can either be naked, or clothed.

So when I get arrested for parading the streets with my cock out I can't say: "Officer, I am naked, but also am 'acting' like a clothed person". The two things are mutually exclusive.

3 internet points for needless reference to the holocaust BTW.

I fail to see why a normal sun couldn't acts like a spotlight due to the earths unique atmosphere.

I've actually been thinking of adding a disclaimer to my sig,but my current one is just too perfect. Also,I'm not kingman.

You really need to count better. Don't forget to explain why the moon and the inner planets go through phases while the outer planets don't.

Gee, maybe you should apply that disclaimer to RoboSteve and Tom Bishop too.

Here's one to think on. Light takes time to travel from one object to our eyes. These objects could be far enough away that the sun was at one point, directed at them, then it flipped to illuminate the earth. We could still be viewing the planets from the period where the sun illuminated them.

Also, the sun could be rotating very fast causing the spot light to alternate on the earth and above the earth.

I think flipping light is very important. It sounds better than bendy light.
