Title: Why is the Earth different?
Post by: Soul Eater on February 15, 2009, 02:41:36 AM
I'm new to these forums and have a questions for FE'ers....Why is the Earth so special?  I mean, what reason is there for the Earth to be flat when all the other planets are round?

Why not? Are you going to apply your conformist inclinations to the universe?

The earth is unique in many ways. How do you explain why life only exists on earth?

But its not as if it needs to flat for life to exist.  Life exists here because the conditions are ideal for it.  Are you going to tell me there is no life on Mars simply because its round?

The planets are not the earth.

If the earth isn't flat, how come we don't fall off?

Because gravity pulls towards the center of a massive object, it doesn't pull down. Up, down, left and right are all perceptions.

In other words...magic? :-\

No, in other words a force we have yet to understand with our current knowledge and technology. But it can be acheived.

What's the Flat Earth's Theory of why we are constantly stuck to the surface? Can't be any better than our "magic" gravity.

This is not the point I'm making. There could be flat bodies all around the universe. We just haven't seen any. Never assume probability is a guarantee.
