So I read the FAQ and I found it all...interesting. But I found something that really confuses me and I don't understand it at all.
Q: "What is the circumference and diameter of the Earth?"
A: "Circumference: 78225 miles, Diameter: 24,900 miles
If the Earth is flat, how can it have a circumference and a diameter?
-
Estimation.
-
But having a circumference and a diameter would mean that the Earth is round, not flat.
Circumference
1. the outer boundary of a circular area; perimeter: the circumference of a circle.

The earth is a disc.
-
A round disc?
-
So the Earth isn't flat then?
-
Nope. Glad you stopped by. And solved two years worth of debate with a single question.
-
So the Earth isn't flat then?
Yes. It is.
-
Well that makes no sense. If it's flat, it can't have a circumference and a diameter.
-
Dammit Oscar, it was the permawin for RE until you chimed in. ;)
-
Here is an object with which you may be familiar that is a similar shape to the Earth:

Well that makes no sense. If it's flat, it can't have a circumference and a diameter.
Why the hell not?

*points up* the definition.
-
Do you know the definition of those two words?
Can a CD have both of those?
-
*cough* loonies *cough*

Well that makes no sense. If it's flat, it can't have a circumference and a diameter.
So do you admit you were an idiot when you posted this?

Wow, you guys crack me up. Why the hell would I admit for posting that?

uh... :-\

*sigh* Whatever. I've found out what I need to know.
Now I'm going back to the place called 'reality.' Where people have 'common sense.'
Maybe one day you'll join us again.
Bye! ;D

I take it you don't live there?

Are you familiar with the distinction between a circle and a sphere?

Among Re'ers, "common sense" seems to translate to "everyone believing the same thing without question". ::)

The earth is a disc.
But some FE models are infinite planes. As I recall, the true size and form of the flat earth is still being investigated by top level FE researchers who have not yet reached a definitive conclusion..

And Username, if I recall.

Tom and Username are the infinite plane preachers.
