Title: Need straight answer
Post by: Revolutionary_theorist on May 07, 2006, 12:13:01 AM
Alright I've been reading threads here for way to long now and I've seen plausable theories for both sides. However, one thing I have seen being brought up constantly is the whole "travel in one direction and wind up where you started" thing. Which is a strong argument. If the earth is flat or round then no matter what you go in a big circle.

However, FE's seem to be dodging the fact that if you travel (car, boat, train, etc..) in one direction with out the use of instruments on a flat planet, then the only way to wind up back at the start is to change direction. This would mean, in this case, running into the "ice wall" that wraps the planet to keep everyone here. This means that you would need to see the wall when you make it back to your start point. Either traveling alongside it or over it. (Yes I already realize that in the FE theory that means you die)

So why doesn't anyone encounter the wall when traveling the planet?

Show us a video of someone travelling around the world without encountering the ice wall and you'll have proved your point.

Why bother..?

So far when it comes to photos or any visual evidence it is always played down as a "hoax".....a fraud/cover up or whatever so why would this be any different?

anyways...

You could always go on one of the expeditions organised through this site

so finally the argument is over, there IS documented proof of a south pole existing. unless there is another hairbrained explanation.

They did bring up a valid point.

Every time a picture from NASA is posted it is said to be a hoax.  So how does one prove anything?

FEs aren't dodging that, there's just wondering why you keep bringing it up.

You can't go perfectly in one direction for 24,000 miles.  If you're in an airplane, you run into turbulence or storms which you need to go around or over.  Obviously it's not possible by any other means of transportation.  So what's really going on when you're "going in one direction" is you're trying to go in one direction, failing regularly, and making corrections -- which you cannot do without the use of instruments.
