Title: oxigen?
Post by: charlie on June 24, 2008, 02:35:31 PM
according to the FAQ, the earth is moving upwarts.
doesn't that mean that all of our oxigen is sucked into space?

so won't we sufficate?

Now, I'm not a FE'er, but I still think that, sphere or flat, the Earth has an atmo-sphere/plane to keep all of our stuff in.

How can a atmosfere exist without gravity?

Uhm, the Earth is accelerating upwards, and the "atmoplane" is held in by the "Greater Ice Wall" somewhere beyond the Inner Ice Wall.

One hypothesis is that a great distance beyond the Antarctic rim there is a Greater Ice Wall hundreds of thousands of feet high which keeps the atmosphere in.

Another hypothesis is that the earth is extends a distance long enough beyond the light of the sun that the atmosphere eventually freezes before the earth breaks off into space.

Still another hypothesis is that neither a wall or an edge existing out in the uncharted tundra of Antarctica; the tundra of ice and snow stretches outwards eternally. The earth is an infinite plane which cuts the universe in half in this model.

I suspect that the same force propelling the earth (UA/DE) is capable of holding the atmoplane in. Also, there may be an ice wall rim-ward.

the air wil escape stil

Thats why we have the magic.

Oh, I dunno. I guess I'll leave this to Tom.

Why is your UA only acting directly under the earth? What would happen if you placed the UA everywhere under the earth, I wonder?   ::)

Pressure is force per unit area. For this "presure" you speak of to be originating above the Earth, there must be something to create the force. Either there's an infinite supply of air above us, or the pressure in that diagram is a fictitious force.

And in any case, even if the pressure was applied from above, wouldn't that just serve to keep the air in by preventing it from rising over the ice wall?

I reply that tomorow.

I'm going to sleep.

I still don't understand how an infinite plane can be propelled through space. ???

It isn't. Username has equation for infinite plane gravitation here (http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=20083.msg379073#msg379073).

It can't hold, that atmosphere will not stand.
The top of it will be puched downwarts, and then all of it will escape is space.

Pushed downwards by what? Like I said before, what is causing your as yet unexplained pressure?

the upmoving earth will forse the atmosfere to fall on it.

Because the earth is puched upwarts, what puches the atmosphere up?
If there isn't an atmosphere, then there is nothing that holds the air.

The Earth pushes the air at the bottom of the atmosphere up. The ice walls retain the atmosphere within their boundaries. The pressure in the atmosphere causes it to accelerate up (not down, as your original diagram indicates), and equilibrium is reached when the pressure in the atmosphere causes the air to accelerate at the same rate as the Earth, that is, g.

Notice the impermeable hemiphere.

Notice the impermeable hemiphere.

The impermeable hemisphere is not necessary to keep the air inside.

Such a great example of the scientific method at work.
