Title: faith in a flat earth
Post by: The Shooter on October 18, 2007, 05:39:22 AM
hey to the flat earthers on this site. Which i don't think is many LOL

what i wanna know is what inspires you to believe in a flat earth? is it just because of rowbothams(i cant remember how to spell his name GeneralGayer please don't hurt me :(  ) experiments or something else.

Do you ever wake up thinking, nah this is stupid the earth is round what was i thinking. Do you ever doubt sometimes that the earth is flat?

just wondering. :)

Faith has nothing to do with it. Faith is what the vast majority of the world's population are subject to when they blindly believe globularist lies without any verification.

What drives most Zeteticists to their conclusions is proper scrutiny of obvious scientific fact.

That's because you, as a human, compare to the size of the Earth, will never see it round while standing its ground.

Well of course the earth is gonna look flat by looking outside your window. The earth is a big place, if you when up into space you be able to see that the earth is round, but not on ground level.

Yes, lets forget the earth is flat. Although the point is valid, standing with your head about 5-6 (depending on a person's height, it could be anything between three inches and twenty) feet above the surface of such a big globe, it would appear flat.

Well of course the Earth is going to appear flat from our relative position, brother. We're standing upon a gargantuan globe, the curvature (roundness) isn't going to be so apparent from ground level.

Well what evidence do you have then Tom? I think the main piece of evidence in favour of RE is that we don't rely on silly, magical and complicated laws of perspective, and equally complicated science to explain what we see every day. That and the photographic evidence which you dismiss because its part of your "Pointless Conspiracy."

Because satellite imagery was one of the things involved into helping to create Google earth, because launching objects into space isn't possible for FE.

They were taken by satellite. See? Satellites can't exist in the FE model. Read the FAQ you seem to love directing people to.

Antarctic imagery is visible too, you know, when according to general FE consensus, it doesn't exist as a continent.

You evaded his question and make the poor assumption that they were taken by satellites. For someone who has been registered for so long, I'd think a functioning brain would be in order. It appears you're the one who should return to his rock.

And the second point makes no sense. Because there is pictures of something, it exists? Do we need to outline why this logic is faulty? I sure hope not.

I didn't evade his question. The images were taken by satellites which can't work in the FE model, but work in the RE model. This means the Earth is round and not flat. See? Thanks for trying, back under the rock you go.

I must have imagined images of my house then, images of McMurdo station in Antarctica, images of the shopping centres I visit on a weekly basis. Yeah, my logic is faulty. All hail Divito's infinite wisdom.

Really? Because I still don't see an answer to it. We already know satellites don't work in the FE model. That has nothing to do with his question. Submitting a purported method for the photos as fact is quite a weak approach.

Mhmm, and you know they exist how? Because people claim they exist? Or you've perhaps seen the ISS?

I can acknowledge just as easily as the next person what the definition of a satellite is and what it supposedly does. I could never claim to know that their functioning existence is fact though.

Just because you or I haven't seen a satellite up close doesn't mean that we can't claim that they exist as absolute fact. I mean I haven't seen a million dollars but i know that it exists.

The only reason some people are defensive on this site about Satellites existing and that GPS actually works by another method, is because FE states that going into space is impossible, there for satellites are impossible. Thats the only reason why some people on this site find any excuse under the sun to show how its possible for another way to use GPS or how they got Google Earth images.

Yeah, I agree with you, but only to a small extent.

Having pictures of the whole earth being round and saying that the earth is round is more logical than not having a single picture of the whole earth being flat and saying that the earth is flat.
