hey to the flat earthers on this site. Which i don't think is many LOL
what i wanna know is what inspires you to believe in a flat earth? is it just because of rowbothams(i cant remember how to spell his name GeneralGayer please don't hurt me :( ) experiments or something else.
Do you ever wake up thinking, nah this is stupid the earth is round what was i thinking. Do you ever doubt sometimes that the earth is flat?
just wondering. :)
-
Well apart from forgetting to capitalise the R, you spelt Rowbotham correctly (I think)
I never doubt that the Earth is flat!
-
They like attention.
-
that as well
-
I have doubted it, but I stay on course
-
Oh you are silly Username
-
Do you ever wake up thinking, nah this is stupid the earth is round what was i thinking. Do you ever doubt sometimes that the earth is flat?
Who should I doubt something that's so apparent and observable just by looking out my window?
-

We all doubt the obvious from time to time Tom. No shame in admitting it.

I see a curve outside my window Tom Dipshit.

I see a building and a tree. If I look to the left a mountain.

You sit on a round Earth believing a flat Earth.
-
You sit on a round Earth believing a flat Earth.
I've never seen any round earth. Why should I believe in something I've never seen?
-

I've never seen any round earth. Why should I believe in something I've never seen?
Because we are living on a round earth
-
Because we are living on a round earth
Proof? I've never seen any Round Earth. I don't see any reason why I should have blind faith in a theory without evidence I can reproduce myself.

where do you live that you can see the earths curavture???
-
I don't see any reason why I should have blind faith in a theory without evidence I can reproduce myself.
Exactly, which is why so few people believe FE. Be honest, RE makes more sense.

Midway from the foot of a mountain and the top. It's REALLY hard to see but it is there.
-
Faith has nothing to do with it. Faith is what the vast majority of the world's population are subject to when they blindly believe globularist lies without any verification.
What drives most Zeteticists to their conclusions is proper scrutiny of obvious scientific fact.
-
I don't see any reason why I should have blind faith in a theory without evidence I can reproduce myself.
...said by mister who believes in a huge conspiracy with no evidence of its existance... ::)
....*cough*

I've never seen any round earth. Why should I believe in something I've never seen?
That's because you, as a human, compare to the size of the Earth, will never see it round while standing its ground.
-

Well of course the earth is gonna look flat by looking outside your window. The earth is a big place, if you when up into space you be able to see that the earth is round, but not on ground level.
-
Now let's not forget that the Earth is not a perfect globe.
-
Lets not forget that the Earth is flat
-
Yes, lets forget the earth is flat. Although the point is valid, standing with your head about 5-6 (depending on a person's height, it could be anything between three inches and twenty) feet above the surface of such a big globe, it would appear flat.
-
The earth is flat now piss off you little freak
-
Youre just running away from the truth, GeneralGayer.
-
No, the truth runs away from me!
-
The truth ran from you long ago, along with sense, logic and reason. Roughly at the time you began thinking the Earth is flat.
-
Let's start the Oblate Spheroid society!
-
What would that be like? Would there be anything to discuss?
-

You're mean :'(

Well of course the Earth is going to appear flat from our relative position, brother. We're standing upon a gargantuan globe, the curvature (roundness) isn't going to be so apparent from ground level.
-
Well of course the Earth is going to appear flat from our relative position, brother. We're standing upon a gargantuan globe, the curvature (roundness) isn't going to be so apparent from ground level.
I don't see any reason why I should believe that I am standing on a gargantuan globe anymore than I should believe that I am standing on a gargantuan space banana.
What evidence do you have demonstrating that the earth is, infact, a globe?
-
What evidence do you have demonstrating that the earth is, infact, a globe?
Google Earth (http://earth.google.com/).
Thanks for playing, brother.

Well Tom, Jon has presented his evidence now what evidence do you have?

We Bishops usually claim it to be a misrepresentation of the flat earth wrapped around a 3d model and that NASA "made up" alot of the images imposed on that 3d model.

For what purpose? Exactly what would anyone gain from covering up the truth about the Earth's shape and making fake pictures? It doesn't make any sense. What do these apparent Conspirators hope to achieve by keeping us in the dark?

What does a bunch of high altitude images plastered onto a 3D sphere prove about the true shape of the earth?
-
Well what evidence do you have then Tom? I think the main piece of evidence in favour of RE is that we don't rely on silly, magical and complicated laws of perspective, and equally complicated science to explain what we see every day. That and the photographic evidence which you dismiss because its part of your "Pointless Conspiracy."
-
I've never seen such a massive collection of Tom Bishops all in the same thread.
THE CLONES ARE UNITING!

Ah, Tom. You poor, schizophrenic weirdo.

Well apart from forgetting to capitalise the R, you spelt Rowbotham correctly (I think)

You spelled "capitalize" wrong.
And "spelled".
Haven't you learned anything, you silly daft Brit? :D
-
captialise is spelled with an s. Only daft Americanz spell everything with a z.

What does a bunch of high altitude images plastered onto a 3D sphere prove about the true shape of the earth?
Because satellite imagery was one of the things involved into helping to create Google earth, because launching objects into space isn't possible for FE.

They were taken by satellite. See? Satellites can't exist in the FE model. Read the FAQ you seem to love directing people to.
Antarctic imagery is visible too, you know, when according to general FE consensus, it doesn't exist as a continent.

Exactly what nonsense am I spouting? Elaborate or crawl back under your rock.

Doesn't seem like he spouted nonsense to me
-

You evaded his question and make the poor assumption that they were taken by satellites. For someone who has been registered for so long, I'd think a functioning brain would be in order. It appears you're the one who should return to his rock.
And the second point makes no sense. Because there is pictures of something, it exists? Do we need to outline why this logic is faulty? I sure hope not.

I didn't evade his question. The images were taken by satellites which can't work in the FE model, but work in the RE model. This means the Earth is round and not flat. See? Thanks for trying, back under the rock you go.
And the second point makes no sense. Because there is pictures of something, it exists? Do we need to outline why this logic is faulty? I sure hope not.
I must have imagined images of my house then, images of McMurdo station in Antarctica, images of the shopping centres I visit on a weekly basis. Yeah, my logic is faulty. All hail Divito's infinite wisdom.
-

Really? Because I still don't see an answer to it. We already know satellites don't work in the FE model. That has nothing to do with his question. Submitting a purported method for the photos as fact is quite a weak approach.

Why would you need to imagine images of your house, McMurdo station in Antarctica or images of the shopping centers?
And my wisdom is not infinite. Fail.

He asked what evidence I had. The fact satellites exist is a fact that the Earth isn't flat since they don't work with the FE model. How hard is this for you to grasp?
Why would you need to imagine images of your house, McMurdo station in Antarctica or images of the shopping centers?
You implied that just because I see images doesn't mean their contents exist. So obviously this means I imagined my house, McMurdo, etc in the Google Earth images?
And my wisdom is not infinite. Fail.
You didn't recognise sarcasm. Fail.

What makes you think that the images on Google Earth were taken by satellite? Google says specifically on their FAQ that the images were taken from aircraft and were bought from government sources.

Google Earth combines the power of Google Search with satellite imagery, maps, terrain and 3D buildings to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips.
On the first page of Google Earth (http://earth.google.com).

i cant find in the FAQ were it says it wasn't taken from satellite, show me were abouts it says it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_earth
On Wikipedia it says that satellite imagery was used.
-
[sarcasm]Wikipedia is part of the conspiracy, as is google, they are both lying to you.[/sarcasm]
-
He asked what evidence I had. The fact satellites exist is a fact that the Earth isn't flat since they don't work with the FE model. How hard is this for you to grasp?
Mhmm, and you know they exist how? Because people claim they exist? Or you've perhaps seen the ISS?
I can acknowledge just as easily as the next person what the definition of a satellite is and what it supposedly does. I could never claim to know that their functioning existence is fact though.
You implied that just because I see images doesn't mean their contents exist. So obviously this means I imagined my house, McMurdo, etc in the Google Earth images?
No, I implied nothing of the kind. It doesn't mean they don't exist at all.
-

Just because you or I haven't seen a satellite up close doesn't mean that we can't claim that they exist as absolute fact. I mean I haven't seen a million dollars but i know that it exists.
The only reason some people are defensive on this site about Satellites existing and that GPS actually works by another method, is because FE states that going into space is impossible, there for satellites are impossible. Thats the only reason why some people on this site find any excuse under the sun to show how its possible for another way to use GPS or how they got Google Earth images.
-

You can claim anything if you want to; that's not the point.
-
And the second point makes no sense. Because there is pictures of something, it exists? Do we need to outline why this logic is faulty? I sure hope not.
Yeah, I agree with you, but only to a small extent.
Having pictures of the whole earth being round and saying that the earth is round is more logical than not having a single picture of the whole earth being flat and saying that the earth is flat.
