Why?
That's the question that I asked myself as soon as I stumbled across this site. Why? Why would anybody believe this to be true? The idea that the Earth is flat was broken ages ago. Why suddenly do you believe that it is flat? I'd like to meet the genius who came up with this little theory! I wasn't even going to bother with this site.
Listen, I've flew across the world. Not once did I encounter a wall of ice. My home country is Germany. In my country, we would call this theory Äußerst verzögert.
This theory defies all laws of physics! It defies reality! But are those both made up as well? Here, take a look at this:
What would you call this? Photo editing? No. Photo editing did not exist in 1960. And even if you claim that it was a secret technology, this is also impossible. Somebody would have known. We would have gotten photo editing tools earlier.
This whole idea makes my blood come to a boil. It makes me depressed beyond belief. What is wrong with people? We have known that the Earth is round for centuries! How old are the people on this website? What kind of mental state are you in?
-
You said it.
Wouldn't some laws of [insert here for example physics] violate if everything was flat?

Oh, here we go. This has been a re-occurring theme I've seen on all other skepticism threads.
Bitterness.
Sarcasm.
Insults.
All without anything to back it up, you have NOTHING.
Edit: Better fix my post. You'll think what I'm saying has to be false because I'm not using good grammar.
-
Indeed, the sad thing is. Most evidence that FE'ers have is either...
1. Proved wrong
2. Not supported
3. Irrelevent.
4. Contradicts current theories that have been proved correct.
5. Based on unreliable sources.
6. Based from sources that have yet to be shown to even exist.
7. Based on sources from "Famous Scientists" that noone has ever heard of, such as Sir James Clark Ross. FE'ers make him sound like a modern scientist, when he was infact an explorer in the 19th century. The "Massive Ice wall" that he found was infact an ice shelf...

If earth was flat, The axle wouldn't work. since FErs said earth is flat, The axle cannot rotate on the degree where it's meant to be. Just stay at fair 0 degree.

It had NO SARCAMS OR INSULTS, IT SAID STRAIGHT WAY THAT YOU'RE CORRECT!

Sorry, Lolburst. With your post count, I just figured you were being sarcastic in your first post. I was still in attack mode. Sorry. But my point remains the same.
-
If you search for my post, all i did was rage about FErs stupidy.
But...
-
Sorry but I'm a REer and that photo could be anything. It looks like a cappuccino.
-
Wow. A cappucino? You really need to get out of the house more.

Oh God. Tell me you're kidding.
-
See? This is what happens when a bunch of geeks with no girlfriends decide to team up.
-
No, this is what happens when INTELLIGENT people come together to disprove a theory that has more holes in it than swiss cheese. Pretty much every aspect of it contradicts proven theories and the FAQ on these forums are an absolute joke. It is just sad that a bunch of reasonably intelligent people would come to believe something that is based on false info and stupidity.
-
Since the ice wall is so large, wouldn't we be able to see it from our windows? The Earth doesn't curve, right?
-
Good point.
-
Surely if you are on a high enough building, according to flat earth theory, you can see to the ends of the Earth (Without Fog). As the curveture of the Earth doesn't prohibit it.
-
In before this topic being deleted and all of our accounts being banned.
-
That would just prove they are like this "conspiracy" they constantly talk about. If they ban us or delete the thread, then it just proves they are trying to cover up. They would be victims of their own thoughts.

FLAT EARTH DOES NOT EXISTS!
Theory Number 1.
Alright, look below image. You can see RE and FE there. Well, first thing, RE can rotate, Move and do anything. But, Since many FErs said earth is completely FLAT, The axle goes straight from flat earth, because it's standing like stick, And FE Is flat, FE Cannot move. Also, because it cannot move or rotate, it's paranoid. There would be NO Months and years. If everything would be flat from the big bang, Sun could not rotate and use it's gravitional force, And, if there was flat planet at the solar system, It would be paranoid, since it cannot switch anything etc. /endtheory

It could be anything. Why post an old grainy photograph that proves nothing? There are countless better arguments against FET.
Sorry but I'm a REer and that photo could be anything. It looks like a cappuccino.
Oh God. Tell me you're kidding.
Why would I be kidding. It's a fuzzy, black and white semi-circle with some white swirls in it. I didn't say it was a cappuccino I said it looked like one and really it could be anything.
See? This is what happens when a bunch of geeks with no girlfriends decide to team up.
Why would you assume I was a geek with no girlfriend?

Please, Kasroa.
All theories on this site are totally pointless. Instead of trying to make the Earth out to be some huge conspiracy, why don't any of you just appreciate it for what it is? As astronomer Carl Sagan described our planet, the pale blue dot that appeared in a photo taken in 1990,
"That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you've ever heard of, every human being who ever was lived out their lives. The aggregate of all our joys and sufferings, thousands of confident religions, ideologies and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilizations, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every hopeful child, every mother and father, every inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lived there - on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of the dot on scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner of the dot. How frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light.
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity -- in all this vastness -- there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. It is up to us. It's been said that astronomy is a humbling, and I might add, a character-building experience. To my mind, there is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly and compassionately with one another and to preserve and cherish this pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."
This lengthy quote may seem irrelevant to you. It may seem silly. But so is this theory. Our planet, our universe - why further complicate something that is complicated enough? Please use your mind.

Why we CANNOT See edges of earth from our tallest mountain, Mount Everest?

No, it looks like small dot there.

Well, I'm going to bed. It's 11:39 AM here in Germany and I've been up all night. Can't wait to get back to the states.

Wait. What?

Did i read somewhere:
"Earth is flat because it has life and is far more superior than other planets"
Aliens live too, They are organic too.
So, wouldn't this mean they have flat homeworld too?
PARADOX!!!

I nominate this posting as El Supremo of round earth theory.
There is no 'round Earth theory'. There's only the reality that the Earth is, without a shadow of a doubt, round.

ROMFFL, in fact I about did a spit take.

Oh, I get it. This is all a joke to piss off the scientific community.
You're all a bunch of eccentric Christians, aren't you?
