Trusting people who think the world is flat has nothing to do with your intelligence?

Just how ridiculous do you think it actually is to believe that the world is flat?

Would you agree that if there actually are no genuine flat earth believers on this forum you are very naive?

No, because I checked wikipedia, this site used to be owned by the Head of the flat earth society, which was and is a real organization, however, when he died they just moved it to this forum. I have looked at the information, and I trust that there are a few people on earth who are special enough to believe the earth is flat. I know there are people that special, because there are people special enough to honestly be young earth creationists.

Yes, but what makes you think anybody actually literally believes something that is so obviously ridiculous?  Is it possible you've been duped by people claiming to believe something that defies logic?  Not duped as in convinced that what they believe is true, duped as in convinced that it is true that they believe it.  If I am right, and nobody on this forum actually believes that the Earth is flat does that reflect on your intelligence in a good way or a bad way?

Well, I used to think they were faking it, but I checked wikipedia, and I also PM'ed a few people who insisted they were the real deal...and I just trust people, it has nothing to do with my intelligence.

The people who believe that the earth is flat, FE = flat earth.

what's your point?

The point is that the FE myth is pseudo-science, and the believers are being duped by fancy talk that means nothing, and is highly highly flawed and twisted information!

FE'ers are good at making non-science BS sound like it is all technical and scientific, just like creationists do. Here, let me give it a go.

If you extrapolate 334.35/ms in relativistic microbiology you will eventually end up with the conclusion that retroprescoptomometers cannot define equally any such plane of a sphere. Therefore, we must conclude, from the calculations (E)x3+9.23 where E is relative motion in flat super space and x is a brownian magician on crack, you will see that the earth is flat, and there is a huge conspiracy for no reason, and I can ignore occams razor because p=3x Z(30.322/M). In conclusion, pink unicorns also live on this flat earth, but they hide in the secret village of the ice wall. All airline pilots are liars, by the way, and the photos are faked. In general, this is one big multi-governmental "APRIL FOOLS!"

Now, you must be afraid that I am right, afterall, I am just a skeptical scientist, and you are just afraid I might be right. You guys are just blinded by the governments, but I got it aaaallll right, because I am just that much better than you.

This, my friends, is what we call pseudo-science. The FE myth is pseudo-science, you might as well come up with the stork hypothesis of birth, and tell us all that when you see someone being born, that is just faked, or they are lying, and it is a big ol' conspiracy. Why a conspiracy you say, well, they got bored, and decided to pull off the most expensive prank in history, and continually waste money on it.

Oh, well, I just gave them the first email you sent me ([email protected]) because I didn't refresh the page untill after I sent it to the producer!  He will be contacting you within 24-48 hours to set up a date and time. I look forward to hearing you on the show!

When he replies to you to set up the time, please PM me with that information, so I can be sure to listen in! Also, if you want, you can make a new thread with the date, time, and topic of the show!

Thanks!

But I looked up my address...and I saw my entire neighborhood...and it looked exactly like it really looks. I also looked up my friends house, you can look up your own house if you want.

Hey, would you like to come onto an internet radio show to discuss your views about the earth being flat? You just have to call in on a landline whenever the date is we give you, if you accept. This will be a great oppurtunity to share your views. Are you in?

Right.....

Anywho, I have to ask you about google earth, the free program available for download in which you can look anywhere at earth from sattelite photos. First, how did they get all those photos without sattelites, unless you think they actually flew planes all around the entire world, including places its forbidden to fly in. Second, I can verify that all the photos on there are for real, I looked up my own home, and you can too, unless that is all just a big conspiracy as well..

Why do REers always refuse to accept the evidence that the earth is flat? whether u believe it or not it is true

Because the opposite has already been proven, it has passed every step of the scientific method.

Thanks for answering my question, and also, I didnt send anyone the same message, I just PM'ed 10 others with unique messages, all asking different questions. I only added the IQ part as a joke since my friend was watching, and insisted I say something funny, sorry.

So, have you decided whether or not you want to appear on the show yet?

So, you want a million dollars, but you won't accept $50,000 because it isn't enough?

Did you not read the part where I mention PRODUCTIVITY? I don't need to spend 2 hours talking with this guy on his podcast. I can go to their site, take the minute or two to register, and post a thread containing a link to this site, where the individual people can go if they're interested. If instead I got onto a radio show that had millions of listeners, say NPR, that directs a base towards this site that could not be obtained by even spamming random message boards for hours.

Quote from: "AeliusPix"
You are not in a position to call down close-mindedness.

And why is that? Could it be because you're an idiot? I don't go around to other people's message boards, say some Christian group, and call them idiots for believing in an invisible sky magician, and post some pics of a dog fucking jesus.  No notflatearth, I'm not talking about you here, at least not exclusively, but if you stick around you'll see the above. Hell, you might even see anti-Christian rants and pics specifically by people stupid enough to think we're Jesus freaks.

Also, have you ever seen me flat out dismiss any theory without reason?

Going on this radio show would give you a chance to also speak to people one on one who have questions, he has a part where peoople can call in the show to ask questions. The show can spread across the internet, and lots of people can come to the site to discuss this. I am telling you, this is very good way to spread your message if you want to.

Don't get all mad at me because YOU can't defend your beliefs and need to result to ad hominems.

you guys like that word don't you :)

I can't defend my beliefs? are you talking into a mirror again?

Are you using childish insults again?

This goes for you too notflatearth. Judging by your PMs I don't expect an environment any more interested in actual debate concerning alternate theories than you were.

I wouldnt be the one on the show, you will be talking with Reginald Finley, but members of the site are allowed to find guests for future shows. So, don't let my conduct be a sign of how the show will go, Reggie is a nice guy.

Make it a REAL one and I would do it. Even pay for my travel and lodging there so I don't sound all weird because I'm on a phone. 'Internet' radio show. No, that's okay...

It is a real radio show, it has been on the internet for 8 years. As long as you call in on a land line, your voice will sound fine. If you are interested, which for some odd reasons no one seems to be, then PM me.

Flat Earth Q&A / RADIO SHOW INVITATION
« on: August 30, 2006, 05:32:36 AM »
Hello all flat earthers, I extend an invitation toward you, assuming you believe that the earth is flat, to come onto an internet radio show!

If you believe the earth is flat, and would like to come onto an internet radio show please PM me and also respond on these forums.

The radio show you will be appearing on is an atheist/skeptic radio show, and as the homepage of this website welcomes skeptics, you are invited to have a discussion on the air with one. This is a great oppurtunity to share you beliefs, and show skeptics, atheists, theists, and non-skeptics alike your views about the earth and other planets.

The website for the radio program is: www.infidelguy.com

Please remember, only believers in a flat earth are needed for this program, which will be approximately 1 to 2 hours long, and broadcasted live on the internet. The program is listened to by hundreds of people, all of which want to hear your views so they can be discussed, challenged, and possibly accepted.

PLEASE PM ME AND ALSO POST HERE ON THIS THREAD IF INTERESTED!

Thank you very much, Josh Spiegel.
