It might not be, but I wouldn't presume to know. I don't think an atomic fusion device would melt ice 3000 miles away when detonated.

True, but we are talking about a "huge" ball of combustible gas, just exploding all the time. 32 miles is pretty big for a flaming ball, so I'm sure that would definitely do some damage.

OR that it isn't as hot as you assume it to be. Isn't that a fair answer?

I suppose so, but that would disprove all theories about the sun burning at thousands of degrees, which would probably mean that the sun isn't composed of hydrogen and helium, among other gases.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: A quick question.

Maybe you could post a picture that demonstrates this point, if it's true.

I believe it is going to be hard to post a picture because in order to get the curvature effect, you have to be there yourself, because I don't think a camera is going to have that huge of a lens to see what your eye can. So my advice is, go to to the beach, and you will notice a slight curve.

Forget about me saying it would be hard to find a picture. I just typed "Curvature of the earth" into google, and an abundance of images came up

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Volcanoes?

Although I'm not a flat earther, I think it is explained that there is a core which is filled with magma and when it gets too full it bursts outward.

Good, now prove you can use the search function.  ;)

Search function for what? Getting my answers, or looking at sentences written by other people? If it's for the answers, would it really kill you to retype a simple explanation?

Ah, so we have a statistician in our midst.

No, to be honest, I have no idea how many people I have better grammar than, but the 70% was just to prove the point that I have good sentence structure.

Why do you perpetuate the myth that only flat earth advocates think NASA is conspiratorial in nature?

I don't think that only flat earth advocates think NASA is conspiratorial in nature, I just said that flat earth advocates thought they were behind the conspiracy of the earth being flat. I myself believe that NASA might be hiding something themselves.

Oh Kill-9, posted the same time I was, but yeah you said exactly what I said, but in greater detail.

I think you should go back to whatever forum you came from. To follow the arguments here you need a solid understanding of intermediate physics, relativity, and a mastering of the science of paragraph and sentence structure.
To be totally honest, my sentence structure must be better than roughly 70% of what I've seen so far.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: I'll give it a go!

I'll let you prove it. Step off a cliff (higher the better). Watch your wristwatch. Then watch as the earth accelerates toward you at 9.8m/s^2. Check results against cliff height.

I believe the earth is round, and you are being "pulled" towards the core. Also, if everything in the universe is moving up, then explain to me why largest "celestial bodies" have stronger gravitational pulls? Or can you not prove that.

So I just found this site tonight (well technically this morning since it's almost 2 AM for me) and I just don't get the FE theory. All the threads I looked at people just give stupid answers like "You're Wrong" or "False" or "FAQ". I skimmed through the FAQ and it seems that you people who believe in FE think that NASA is in on it, and the heart of the conspiracy. I hate to break this to you guys, but NASA isn't the only space association out there. I'm not sure if I 'm right about this, but the FAQ said that the Sun orbited 3000 miles above the equator? Then what makes the Sun rise and set each day? Also, the theory about weather on the moon which creates the phases, doesn't make much sense to me. The phases of the moon is caused by the orbit of the moon, because the moon's orbit is not a definite circle, it bumps up and down, which also accommodates for  Lunar Eclipses. But solar eclipses wouldn't make much sense. I didn't see anything in the FAQ about solar eclipses. For a solar eclipse to happen in FE would mean that the moon would sink below the Sun, which wouldn't make much sense. I also don't understand why people think there is an Ice Wall around Flat Earth. That would mean that you only fly in an airplane 150ft or so above the ground, since (I'm assuming that you wouldn't be able to fly higher than the ice wall), which wouldn't make the houses appear small. Also, how do you explain planes flying above the clouds, that would mean that clouds are very close to the ground.

In conclusion, I don't mean to bash any FE'er, I would just like them to debunk my poorly written points with suitable answers, not just some "FAQ PLEASE" or "FALSE". Also, try and make it as simple as possible, because I'm only in 8th grade and my understanding of this isn't very vast(though I'm taking Earth Science, so I know a few things about the earth)

It also seems like I'm wasting my time in even attempting to disprove any of this, since most of this site is satire.

And obviously, you're wrong. There are polar ice caps and the sun is still going.

Which means that the sun can't be only 32 miles in diameter.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Question

Because when you are high up, there are less things blocking your view, that's just like saying why can you see further when you are on top of your roof instead of on the ground, simply because less things are blocking your view.

I believe the earth is round. And when you are on a boat, you do see the curvature of the horizon. And we see the "mountains" first because they are the largest object at where ever you are, so you are obviously going to see them first.
