I just finished the 3rd episode. This is very difficult to watch. lol

Since I love the Dune series SO MUCH, I can't help notice all the wrong things. The Empress shouldn't even know the word "Shai-Hulud", let alone casually refer to the sandworms with that name. Then one of the sisters referred to a sandworm as a "maker" and she shouldn't have this knowledge yet, either. They haven't implanted the Missionaria Protectiva yet, they haven't got a clue about Fremen religion yet.

Also, Travis Fimmel's character having a super power because he was "touched by a maker" doesn't even make sense.

AND ALSO, it is just boring.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

The weird thing is I'm having a hard time figuring out why it's so boring.  Especially without explaining it in a boring way.

I'm really hoping we get a Kyle Maclachlan cameo this season.

Dune is basically a political drama in a sci fi setting. Frank Herbert wrote a story about scarcity, destruction of nature, and political corruption. He was extremely interested in ecology. Spice was both a comparison to oil, and to clean water.

This series, while not completely boring, doesn't have any of FH's inspiration, it doesn't give a shit about the environment or humanity. The sisters in FH's Dune were sifting for humans, KJA's sisters are pushing the boundaries of what it means to be human.

Kevin J. Anderson is most famous for writing in fictional universes that other people created, Star Wars, X-Files, etc. He doesn't seem to have the chops to create his own settings with lore he creates himself. His contributions to Dune are bland and trite. You can tell when he attempts to write deep thoughts for his characters, they are dumb compared to the words and thoughts FH wrote for his characters.

I liked the Dune movie, but I get why people might feel it leaves parts of the story out. I read the books ages ago, and the later ones could be tricky to adapt as movies, though "Dune Messiah" would probably work well since it's more compact. I remember watching the first movie on a streaming site because theaters weren't an option for me at the time. If you're still waiting to watch it, platforms like 123moviesfree.net make it easy to check without signing up. It's worth a look for movie nights at home.

Prison?
Usually, it is the uploaders and the site operators (if their site is dedicated to pirating), that carry most of the legal risk. I think the ISPs may merely block the sites rather than send notices to the user, or even slow down the connection to the sites.

The 1984 version had emotion.

Also, I hate Vill's paint roller approach. Use more than one color in the same frame, that's my advice.

Go 1984 version!

Extended version:

Cooool. The sound is so cinematic, and I like how it sets the scene well. (though I won't watch the whole thing today)
