Be nice Heheh. I spend all my life problem solving. When I was at work the communication systems fails and there are thousands of people in airlines in the air with no communication all hell breaks loose. To solve such problem requires training, knowledge, confidence and a 6th sense of logical thinking. I never had a problem getting things going within less than a minute. When I am faced with a problem I don't only see a challenge but the opportunity to learn more.

Half piss and half vinegar.  Makes for a very effective wet blanket.

But we need that hay to feed the livestock over winter.
I don't know what you're implying, but you're probably wrong.

Spread the hay over ground and use a metal detector and a magnet.

Not sure I understand all the effort to find some crappy needle.  Just buy a new one.

What if the needle is made of bone?

Then you will have to change the statement to: "It is as hard to find a bone in a hay stack". I am solving the simple term of a needle.

It is an example on how to solve problem. It like the old statement: "Think outside of the box"

Well, since needles used to be made of bone, it is quite possible that this saying was referring to one of those.

You are diverting from the common phrase. Give me a common problem phrase and I will see if i can find a solution.

Actually, if you burn down the hay stack it is no longer a hay stack.
If you spread out the hay, it is no longer a haystack.
The problem still exists.

Would a metal detector pick up bone?  Bone is made out of mostly calcium, which is a metal, right?

The chicken of course to lay the egg. No chicken means no egg. So where did the chicken come from? Her mother and the mother from the grandmother and so on....

Nope calcium is not a metal. Put a metal detector over your arm it will not beep.
