If us and everything else is accelerating upwards at a constant, why is it then that we can measure how far the moon is from us, and measure that it's actually moving away from us ? it moves around an inch per year ..

That if all the planets in the universe are spherical, then why the hell is the earth not spherical? And also, if it isn't, wouldn't that make it an asteroid rather than a planet?

Well that's an easy fallacy to point out. Your problem is in saying "ALL the planets..." Obviously not ALL planets are spherical, since the Earth isn't.

Why "should" ALL planets be spherical?

The shape of any astronomical object is a consequence of the Big Bang. So the answer must have to do with those initial conditions that led to the emergence of matter and natural law as we know it.

though since it's a sphere it could be unwrapped section at a time and this would mak e a rectanglish picture, you could also take the viewpoint of the top, making everything but the continents transparent, and scrunch the picture in order to give some kind of 2D "depth" to the placement of the continents .. not too hard ^^
