And as for tinfoil hats & clothing that's usually a sign of a nutter

Exactly what the government has brainwashed you into believing.

What are the benefits of governments lying about shape of earth. The conspiracy must cost more than it brings in and everyone knows all politicians are greedy and would rather keep money for themselves.

Politicians, for one, have nothing to do with the conspiracy. Two, if the earth is flat then NASA did not land on the moon (because NASA images from the moon depict a round earth). There is a much larger economic advantage to having commercial space enterprises than not having them. Indeed, having the conspiracy makes more money than not having one. Think of all the companies that pay top dollar to have their "satellites" launched by NASA and its affiliates. Think of the science institutes that do the same, that also pay for rights to use magical orbital telescopes.

I can't fault that argument but politicians must gain something and NASA must get the job done at better value than other companies so maybe they deserve the cash. Still think more evidence points to earth being round though. Is NASA private or publicly funded?
There's no point arguing with an idiot, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You know why they make moon filters for telescopes? Well, it isn't because the moon is too bright.

Why did you bump this? Your work on this subject is an inferior rip-off of mine, which is already stickied.

Your work is uninteresting and not very user friendly. This thread is far superior to yours, but that is irrelevant. I could have made a thread titled "Moon bad!" and it would have garnered more critical acclaim than yours.

First time reading this thread and I'd like to make three points:
1) I have no evidence in my experiments showing harm to humans yet. You have to look for the work of others.
2) No where do I suggest or present data on cancer specifically (although I am a published cancer researcher).
3) Clocktower and the knowledge's shocking deficit in understanding plant biology does not in any way validate their unsubstantiated critiques.
I saw a slight haze in the hotel bathroom this morning after I took a shower, have I discovered a new planet?

If your inarticulate plagiarist burlesque of my work were actually so much better than the original which it clumsily apes, then you would have no need to bump this thread, as interest in it would continue without your interference. Clearly this has not happened.

You contradict yourself, as your thread indeed had to be stickied in order for it to even be considered worthy of any viewing. Notice how my thread has thus far stayed on the front page without the need of any such moderation device. Yours, without such aid, would have been swept under a sea of NASA space videos and cube earth threads. You yourself are adding to the momentum of my thread and yet you have all but forgotten that gross manufacture that you undoubtedly authored.

There is no need, as there is no worthwhile original content in this thread - Irushwithcvs' posts about the Moon lack many things which mine have, and have nothing which mine do not, as they are entirely derivative, unattributed and incomplete facsimiles of my own.

Behold, as James completely dropped his line of argument and just began spouting drivel. If I can't claim victory here, well, I'd go as far as to say that there is simply no such thing as a FE or RE victory, since they all end up this way.

It would inevitably lead to a lot of awkward situations, which is why no one on the planet actually does such a thing.

The Moon, we see it on a near daily basis. We are all aware of the hazards the Moon Demons pose to life on earth, but how can we avoid them? It's not like we can run away from the moon. I will compose a short list of basic moon safety tips. The Moon Demons will be defeated in no time at all!

Do you have any evidence to support your lack of Moon Worship?

Ok I haven't logged on in like two months, but I come back and see this....really? I know you're all pro-flat earth, but this is just outright trolling. Moon demons...? Asking someone to provide evidence to prove a lack of moon worship? Tell me how someone might do that. I REALLY would like to know how you propose that someone prove that they are thinking something. To claim that someone is not thinking about something after they tell you they are is borderline insanity.

The main reason I even logged on was to look at how FES explained the supermoon and I was taken aback by how ludicrous the information was. Rays from the moon causing moon burn and ambiguous claims of harm from 'moon intensity', are you serious? How do you define moon intensity? What are the units of it? Any scientific quantity has a unit right? I'd like to know what that is.

Please don't respond with brash comments, or suggestions to go read several fictitious books or articles from authors who disagree with the world, or an assertion that my inquisition here is 'outlandish'. Asking someone to prove that they are thinking about something is outlandish.

Iconoclast, not everyone agrees with everyone else about flat Earth topics. In fact, there are many facets of flat Earth science that one can explore. This topic isn't The Flat Earth Society's official stance on the moon. The Society usually takes no official stance on any topic other than the general shape of the Earth.

This is one of the things that make The Flat Earth Society a lighthouse of reasoning and understanding in an otherwise murky bay on indoctrination. We enjoy discussing ideas that are new, even if they appear odd at first glance, rather than dismissing then outright as the world's traditional centers of learning do.

I don't think you know how to use a search engine.
http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsystem/features/supermoon_2012.html
http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2012/02may_supermoon/

Please enjoy this short film about last night's moon. Which apparently you believe there is nothing special about. ::)

Its been ruined with Round Earth propaganda (the film is by NASA after all) but I am sure you will smugly nod along to it. However note, last night was a special supermoon and that you are as usual wrong about matters of science.
