I have seen the FAQ for explanation of the seasons and I agree.

On a round earth...

If you live in the northern hemisphere:

Summer from your own perspective living in the northern hemisphere: On round earth, you would see the northern hemisphere become warm and have summer, whilst the southern hemisphere would be cold and have winter. This is what we do see in the round earth model and the flat earth model (explained by the varying size of the suns circle of orbit over a 364.25 day period)

Winter from your own perspective living in the northern hemisphere: On round earth, you would see the northern hemisphere become cold and have winter, whilst the southern hemisphere would be warm and have summer. This is what we do see in the round earth model and the flat earth model (explained by the varying size of the suns circle of orbit over a 364.25 day period).

Here I have explained all four possibilities of the 2 extremes of temperature and your perspective depending on whether you are living in the north or south.

The FAQ doesn't go into this, but what is the current "best" thesis for circular orbit V's elliptical orbit? Could this be what causes ice ages? An incredibly gradual "wobble" in the orbit of the sun?

Come to think of it this does not work - because in an ice age - there seems to be a small band of land at the equator, even there it was colder than it is now. So with this in mind, how does the FE theory explain ice ages? Would the sun not have to actually be increasing and decreasing in its vertical distance from the flat earth, over thousands of years? Assuming the last ice age was 10,000 years ago - the sun would have been not 3000 miles away then but say, 3500 miles or 4000 miles or 6000 miles... whatever is enough to cause the ice age.

If no "flat earther" has included this in the theory then there it is. :P

But you DO have to address the issue of ice ages and explain how the sun makes the whole equator colder. It has to be more than 3000 miles away and is slowly lifting and lowering, lifting and lowering, over 10,000 year periods?

If the sun were circling overhead "wide" (nearer to the ice wall), then the southern hemisphere would be warm, when the sun circles above "narrow" (nearer to the north pole) the southern hemisphere would be cold.

Its not really a question this, more a suggestion to elaborate on things in the FAQ that are not so clear cut, like explaining the ice ages.

EDIT: I do have another question (not in the FAQ)...

Is the earth "platter" spinning, or is the sun moving in circles overhead?

If the earth is spinning this brings the cylinder part of the model into disrepute, because it would no longer be a circle, because an elliptical earth wobble is needed (horizontally), so then do you guys propose that in the flat earth model, it is the sun encircling the earth and the earth is in fact, totally still? (with the exception that it accelerates upwards)

The Earth has no angular momentum at all. It is only the heavens that rotate.

It makes more sense why we never see aliens visiting anyway.

I always thought why don't aliens ever come visit us.
