Majority rules my friends. Sorry to tell you but as much as you think the earth is flat it won't change a damn thing.
Just thought I had to remind you all.

How little you understand the purpose of this site. If it was about proving/disproving FE, it would have closed and vanished in about the time it takes to boil a round egg.

I know, I probably have as much understanding as anyone that comes across the site, but what'd you expect them to think?
Im looking for some insight.

No, actually that is not how it works.  Fail less next time.

So because the majority once believed that the sun revolved around the earth, that means that they were right until the status quo shifted?  Wow, I didn't realize we as human beings had so much of an effect on reality!

Are you seriously going to come into the debate section of a site where people actually give two shits about whether an argument is valid or not based on proper logical fallacies and announce to us all that the Bandwagon Fallacy is, in actuality, not only a valid argument, but a debate ending circumstance?

That's how it worked, did it not? Were scientists not threatened with improsonment/death in the early ages for believing what they did?
The majority of people believed that the universe did revolve around the earth, and until that majority shifted, people were being fucked over for believing otherwise.
When you think about it, it's the same case here.

Yeah unfortunatly for us though, these days we can set people on fire for thinking differently.
But if you're stupid enough to think the earth is flat, then I guess that's punishment enough already...

Well, I think everyone is in agreement with you that most people think the earth is round.  However, that is not what this forum is discussing.  Science is not subjective to the whims of what people believe, though art may be.

Not necessarily.  I think it's more likely that the universe's individual components are actually revolving around each other in a complicated but mathematically derivative fashion that explains the movements of the celestial bodies.

They're not revolving around the earth, because they never go beneath it...

yes, celestial bodies do move around each other, in a mathmetically predictable path, which follows gravity, not "universal acceleration", which you claim affects ONLY the earth, moon and sun, ANYWAY.

so you think the LAWS of PHYSICS near the earth just HAPPEN to be different from the rest of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE?!

anyone who believes that probably also believes all cars are actually powered by perpetual motion machines and not gasoline.
