What is the reason for the round-Earth conspiracy?
« on: June 29, 2018, 08:35:47 AM »
First-time poster here. This question is not about whether the Earth is round or flat. Taking for granted that it is flat (this is, after all, the Flat Earth Society) I would like to understand the reason why the powers that be go to so much trouble to deny it.

A number of different countries, some of them in nearly-perpetual conflict with each other, maintain that the Earth is round. The United States, Russia, China, Japan, the UK, India, Canada, Germany, France, and even tiny Luxembourg, not to mention both Koreas and several other small nations, all have, or claim to have, space programs and orbiting satellites. A conspiracy to hide the true shape of the Earth from the general population must be enormous, to encompass all the people working at the space agencies of all these nations. There would be tremendous incentive for any of these nations to blow the top off the conspiracy, thereby gaining an advantage over all the others.

That this has not happened means the underlying motive for the conspiracy must be profound indeed. And I am trying to discover what that reason might be. Most conspiracies involve money and are limited in scope. All are difficult to conceal, and the difficulty increases exponentially as the number of conspirators rises. The advent of "cube sats" and private rocket companies multiplies that number further. All across the country and the world there are school kids building cube sats and having them launched (or fake-launched) by private companies. Suborning all the people involved has to be a massive undertaking, and this means the motivation to maintain the conspiracy must be huge.

So my question is: What is the motivation? What reason is so powerful that it can hold together such a huge and diverse world-wide conspiracy? What do all these people gain by denying and concealing the truth? Because nobody goes to so much trouble without a reason. A homicide detective wants to know the motive for the crime. I want to know the motive for the round-Earth conspiracy.

First off, I would like to say this is a really good question, but to fully answer this question; you would have to understand the system as a whole. Lets just assume that they know the earth is flat. IF the earth is flat, then the Firmament comes with it. This means we are in an enclosed world with no where to run from our troubles. IF the governments admitted that there was a firmament, everyone would be focused on the firmament and what is beyond it. This leads to questions our governments don't want to answer. Because if we are enclosed and the population continues to grow, eventually we reach a breaking point. (  A minute to midnight. ( Inferno movie.) ) Where we don't have enough resources to sustain the system we have. (Consumer based/monetary based) It is the questions that come from the existence of an enclosed world that would cause world wide panic, and ultimately a war unlike any other.
Not you or me or nobody hits harder than life, but its not about how hard you can hit; it about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. Take the punches and keep moving forward. THAT"S HOW WINNING IS DONE!

Thank you for answering.

I'm not sure what a firmament is. But the Earth need not be flat for it to be a closed system with nowhere to run. Sure, people talk about going to the Moon or Mars, but even with a round Earth, the best we could hope for there is research, which would be fascinating, but does nothing to address the problems of markets, consumerism, and overpopulation. Even if they could send ten thousand people a year to Mars, the world population is growing by 83 million people a year.

But the bigger question I have is, for this to work, nearly every government in the world would have to be in on it, and more bureaucrats and engineers than you could shake a stick at. How do you get that many people all cooperating? I just don't think that concealing the fustercluck of overpopulation and resource depletion can explain it, because the entire environmental movement already knows this is a disaster, even being round-Earthers. From the point of a round-Earth environmentalist, this is really the only planet we have. Mars is a pipe-dream. The round-Earth conspiracy does nothing to help the people who want to conceal or minimize the present environmental disaster.

We still don't have a motivation capable of keeping so many governments, bureaucrats, and engineers on board.

Thanks to the moderators for moving this thread to the proper forum. Being my first post, I was not entirely sure where it belonged.

I've heard the firmament is the 33 levels of heaven, earth, and the underworld; in our world, and then beyond.

I should add, in that teaching: the 33 levels of heaven comprise the three realms which are made up of the five elements

Where does the 33 come from? Is the number given somewhere in Scripture? Or has somebody claimed to have had a direct divine revelation of the number? Most of the religions I'm aware of have far fewer levels than this. But the question of what the firmament is does not really concern me all that much. This is the Flat Earth Society discussion board so we begin with the assumption that a cabal of nation-state governments has colluded to manufacture fake evidence of a round Earth. An undertaking of this magnitude would not be justified without a very powerful motive.

I want to know what the motive is. I am not convinced that keeping us in the dark about the hopelessness of exponentially-increasing population amid limited and dwindling resources is a satisfactory motive for the round-Earth conspiracy, since the very successful conspiracy (most people believe the Earth is round) has not diminished the efforts of environmentalists to deal with these problems.

There must be another motive. I am at a loss to think of a credible motive, since the cost of maintaining the conspiracy is far greater than any possible benefit to its organizers. Faking all those satellites, moon landings, Mars probes, must be astronomically expensive; not to mention things like patrolling the antarctic ice wall to keep people away and adjusting the speed of airplanes to spoof distances between cities, and all the other myriad fakeries. This is horribly expensive. Anybody powerful enough to divert tax monies to fund this would be powerful enough to simply pocket the money much more profitably.

So, again, I ask: What's the motivation? It's got to be awfully powerful, to keep so many people in line.

On a positive note, it could just be the current state of our scientific understanding and sense of liberation.

Yes. This was my point. Only you made it much more succinctly with far fewer words and much easier to understand. Thanks.

Now, can anyone tell us what the motivation for the round-Earth conspiracy is?

Great question magellanclavichord, like you I am still waiting to read an answer to this great question. You know what they say, "the only way 2 people can keep a secret is if one of them is dead". This would be incredible if that many counties, governments, and individuals could keep a lid on a belief that the earth is really flat instead of a sphere. I find it ironic that one of the messages you must read when registering says that one cannot post anything here is not true. Where is the proof that earth is flat? If we have photoshopped pictures of earth being a sphere why are there no actual photos of this flat earth even if photoshopped (at least as good of quality as what flat earthers say are photoshopped photos from NASA)?? One question I would like answered is have any flat earth believers ever driven on a grade that looked flat but was actually either uphill or downhill? There are many places out west like this. When I was in Nevada we were going up a hill that you could not see but it took a lot of power to maintain speed then on the way back I actually put the car in neutral at about 55 MPH and the car accelerated to about 70 MPH and maintained that speed for several miles because were actually on a hill yet you could not actually see it visually. The radius of the earth is far, far greater than the angle of that grade we were on, that is exactly why the earth looks flat to the naked eye, earth is just too big and we are too small to see the curve of earth at ground level. The earths curve can be seen from an airplane but I have been told that is the atmosphere and light playing tricks on my eyes which I obviously do not believe.  Yet flat earthers tell me to believe what I see with my eyes, my eyes tell me earth is a sphere. Would it also not make sense that earth is shaped like the other objects we see in the night sky like planets and our moon?? Those are spheres, why would earth be different?

This great "round-Earth conspiracy" also has to involve anyone with the slightest knowledge of physics because if the earth is flat then
Newtons Laws of Motion and Gravitation cannot be true. It's as simple as that.

No wonder Rowbotham is so down on his so-called "Newtonian Astronomy" etc.

Gravitation means that any pile of earth, rock and a chunk of metal even a few hundred kilometres in radius will collapse into an approximately spherical object - look up "Potato Radius".

Newton's Laws of Motion mean that:
  • For the Globe Earth: The earth must orbit the must larger sun and not vice versa.
  • For the Flat Earth (impossible anyway): The sun, moon, planets and stars cannot circle above the earth with nothing to maintain their near circular motion.

The situation seems to be very similar in the field that is much closer to my area: cancer. The cure for cancer was found (or at least published) about 500 years ago. It is not very expensive and works miraculously. I prepared it and had a chance to see how it works. The guy who was supposed to die in 6 months was perfectly healthy in 3 months. Moreover, in 1896, Nikola Tesla built his healing machine, which was curing cancer, too. In 1930s, they said that in oncology alone Tesla's machine outperforms anything that could've been achieved by surgery. Moreover, in the 1920, George Lakhovsky with the help of Nikola Tesla built his Multi-Wave Oscillator that was curing cancer completely in a few 20-minute weekly sessions. Moreover, in 1993, Hulda Clark announced that she's built an electronic device called zapper that cures cancer and other diseases and that she personally cured 100 cancer patients before writing her book which she intended to be a gift to the mankind. I found her books and built her zapper, it works precisely as she described:
and . I'm showing how to build the device from scratch and all the links are provided in the description, so you can build your own device and see yourself that it indeed works.

Now you can think what is the motive to hide the works of Tesla, Lakhovsky, Rife, Clark and others, -  and answer your own questions.

Similarly, in the 1950, Ferenczy showed that any cancer can be stopped instantly, just by drinking 250 ml or more of fresh raw red beet juice per day, every day. It costs less than a dollar/day.

Similarly, in the 1960s, an American scientist showed that when the mice with grafted tumours were given 0.5% of hydrogen peroxide instead of drinking water, ALL the tumours in ALL the mice disappeared in a few months, and none of them died. Half a litre bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide costs less than a dollar, and all you have to do to adjust it to 0.5% is to take 100 ml of it, add 500 ml of distilled water and mix in a glass bowl with a plastic spoon.

Similarly, in 1896, Nikola Tesla built his ozonator and found that ozonated olive oil can cure many diseases, including cancer. A working ozonator of 1000 mg/hr or more costs less than a hundred bucks on Ebay, first cold-pressed olive oil costs 5 to 10 dollars per litre and the oil can be ozonated in an hour. A cancer patient would need to drink 3 tablespoons of ozonated olive oil per day.

Why they did not tell that to cancer patients and how many million human lives could be saved, how do you think? What is the motive of the pharmaceutical companies etc. to hide these findings and is this a conspiracy, how do you think?

With deepest apologies, that is such an incredible load of horse poo that I really can't tell if you are completely off your nut, or are just parodying the most ridiculous of medical quackery as a joke.

Upon reflection, I think you are joking. You're saying that flat-Eartherism exists because of the same conspiracy thinking that keeps new-age medical quackery alive. But this does not answer my question. I wasn't asking why people believe the Earth is flat. I was asking what explanation flat-Earthers give for the depth, width, and persistence of what they consider to be the round-Earth conspiracy.

"You're saying that flat-Eartherism exists because of the same conspiracy thinking that keeps new-age medical quackery alive."

With all my due respect, this is your own conclusion, dear Sir.

You've written before:

"I want to know the motive for the round-Earth conspiracy."

Your own conclusion, so skillfully drawn, might be a good starting point for your quest of truth. Good luck!

The same reason that people tell lies all the time.

To make themselves feel better or validated.

To make themselves feel better or validated.

That doesn't come close to explaining it. The flat-Earthers say there's a conspiracy of round-Earthers to hide the truth. But such a conspiracy must have begun with the ancient Greeks and continued through every society and every nation from then until now. It must have involved the entirety of the educated classes from then until now. And in this technological age, it would have to include millions upon millions of people in every nation and a thousand different industries.

"Making themselves feel better or validated" is just not a strong enough motive to prevent some of them from exposing the conspiracy. I'm still waiting for an explanation for how such a wide-ranging and long-lasting conspiracy could be maintained, or what motivation is powerful enough that nobody has ever exposed it.

BTW, for just a couple of tens of thousands of dollars you can build a cube sat (tiny satellite) and have it launched by any one of a number of private launch companies. It would be trivially easy to build in cryptography that would prevent anyone from spoofing your signal. There are thousands of them up right now. The alleged conspiracy would have to be spoofing every one of them, or every school kid whose classroom has a cube sat now would have to be part of the conspiracy.

I haven't bothered to read all you have written, but nothing you say seems to have the slightest connection with the topic, "What is the reason for the round-Earth conspiracy?"
You brought in "Cancer Cures" with:
So my question is: What is the motivation? What reason is so powerful that it can hold together such a huge and diverse world-wide conspiracy? What do all these people gain by denying and concealing the truth? Because nobody goes to so much trouble without a reason. A homicide detective wants to know the motive for the crime. But you made no effort to connect your "cancer-cure conspiracy" to the "round-Earth conspiracy".

This "round-Earth conspiracy" would have to have started by around 300BC and been in full swing in the Middle Ages, where the Globe seems to hardly been questioned.

So what about something relevant to the topic, "What is the reason for the round-Earth conspiracy?"

Good luck!

So, do you actually believe all that stuff you said about cancer cures?

 ;D ;D ;D

Wow. It's an apparent offtopic, so I'll just give you the links:

Here's my essay 'bout the stuff: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/CChZ/WyP6D1kcf

Hulda Clark's book of 1993: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/2xiR/c8rJ7Zbqf

And... I also have the papers for that former cancer patient, from the hospital where he was treated with the preparation invented 500 years ago. When I called all the cancer foundations etc. I could find, nobody was interested in that story. Isn't it amazing?

 ;D

Yep. Amazing that no legitimate doctors are interested in quackery. NOT!

 ;D

There's another parallel. It's time to draw conclusions in the both cases. Right now, the chance of getting cancer is between 40 and 50% and the "legitimate doctors" have reached 2% survival rate after chemotherapy. They are devouring public money, promising that if they sequence the human genome... if they do the proteomic research... if they do metabolomic research... if they do this... if they do that... if they have more money... they will find the cure for cancer. Nothing of the sort has happened. All these promises are emtpy.

It's time to stop all that madness and use the methods that proved their efficiency. If anybody's looking how to spent little money and cure himself/herself or their friends/relatives - see above.

Similarly, when all that "shpaze" madness started, they promised cities in the sky and villages on the Moon, Mars etc. etc. etc. The first "satellite" was allegedly launched in 1957, the first man allegedly went to "space" in 1961. It's about 60 years ago. Three generations have been paying their money and patiently waiting for the cities in the sky.

WHERE ARE THEY?

Three generations were deceived and robbed of their money. Since 1961, only about a thousand human beings (or even less) allegedly visited "space".

I can safely predict that all those promises were empty, are empty and will ever be empty. There are no cities in the sky and they will never be built.

It's time to stop that shpaze lunacy and use the money for something useful. President Trump, if I'm not mistaken, has recently closed the Martian program. Good start!

President Trump wants to start Space Force. Did you miss that? It's a thing.

Every single statement in that paragraph is complete and utter hooey. It's amazing how quacks can just make up shit like that and some people will believe it.

Your answer to "What is the reason for the round-Earth conspiracy?" seems to be "There are other conspiracies also." That is not an answer to the question, and your statements about cancer are total bollox.
