It was fun. I started military service in the Navy summer 1965 and learnt how to fire guns, etc, etc. Summers 66/7 I worked at the navy shipyard at Stockholm repairing the scrap. I spent >500 days with the Swedish Navy. Converting merchant ships to minelayers in 24 hrs was a good idea to stop the enemy. We could then fill the Baltic, the Sound and Kattegatt with sea mines in a week. However, the main reason was of course the smart uniform that attracted beautiful girls.
