Flat Earth General / The FE map
« on: August 02, 2013, 03:29:50 AM »
Hello everybody

Some 4 years ago i queried why the FES hasn't contacted a cartographer to draw up a correct map of the Earth. I was informed by a few of your members that it was a task in hand, being as i was around during the hoodie fiasco i didn't hold out much hope. However, i did wonder if your esteemed members had given any further thought to taking the matter forward?

With kind regards

Flat Earth General / Is there a map yet?
« on: January 20, 2012, 01:07:37 PM »
Some 30 months ago (give or take) I asked if there was a map of the flat earth that had been drawn up by a cartographer. I was told it would done by August 2011, is there any news on this only i'm keen to see what the Earth really looks like and finally solve this problem.

With kind regards

it warns that it's overheating over like 10 minutes then shuts off. Should i fuck about repairing it or just get a slim for £169 which i can afford but would rather spend on booze and fags.

Have you ever had this issues? Maybe you can offer advice.

Technology, Science & Alt Science / "Microsoft" scam phone call
« on: April 12, 2011, 01:13:38 AM »
I got a phone call from "microsoft" last night telling me that my computer was infected with a serious error that could destroy, yes that's destroy, my computer !! Well i was obviously petrified about my computer being destroyed. Thankfully as a valued customer of  Microsoft the caller was going to help me sort the problem out. All of my software is hooky (see free as in (stolen)beer) so i had to wonder why Microsoft valued me so much. Anyway, i asked the caller when was the last time my computer had sent them a warning and she said it had sent hundreds within the last two weeks ! I asked when the last one was and she said she didn't know ?? I carried on with this line of questioning when all of a sudden she hung up !

P.S - I knew this was a scam from the beginning but thought i'd play along. Apparently what they do is get you to look at event viewer which will have all sorts of warnings etc.. which to the unknowing home user look serious. They then tell you to go to a website and download some sort of remote control software like webex. Once they're on they mess about for ages making it look like they're "fixing" the computer and then charge about £150

Technology, Science & Alt Science / Have i killed my hard disk?
« on: April 04, 2011, 03:30:18 PM »
I was copying a file from folder to folder within a disc and then without thinking unplugged my pc from the wall (i know)

Now my external hard disk is showing as local disk and windows keeps asking if i want to format it. Earlier i could intermittently see the disk with my files but couldn't access them. I ran an error check through windows and now the drive shows as local all the time and now i cannot access it as "access is denied"

Is it fubar?

I would like the FES to consider the implications of losing this bet - http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=45637.0

I think it's clear to see that a 4 day ban should be served by LW and Thork. Thork, a fine upstanding man, is currently in exile and serving his time. Despite my reminding him yesterday of his debt LW has been on these boards many many times since Sunday. Yes as admin he is not bannable but surely you'll agree he should serve a self imposed 4 day ban save he forever be branded a no good duplicitous lily livered welching tyrant.

I am officially number 10 excited.

Tonight at around 1am GMT the prison guards sent from these shores some 8 weeks ago will finally have control over the Australasian colony. It brings to an end 25 years of chaos, drinking and surfing, mate.

Hoooray.

The Lounge / The Snow Game
« on: December 15, 2010, 09:10:50 AM »
It's going to snow in most parts of Britain over the next 48/72 hours and to prove that Britain is the worst country in the world at coping with the slightest of snowfalls i am proposing a new game/study

If it is snowing in your town or the where you work simply list

1) Location
2) Amount of snow
3) Services affected, ie buses, trains, trams, hospitals, post etc...
4) Panic buying levels. How much bread do the shops have, that sort of thing
5) News coverage. Is the fact it's snowing ,rather than anything related to the snow, headline news and are TV news programmes asking for pictures?
6) School closures or number of staff not turning up for work.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Thanksgiving
« on: November 25, 2010, 05:24:09 AM »
Hi Americans,

I have few Thanksgiving related questions.

Is Thanksgiving a public holiday?
Is tomorrow a public holiday or do you have to go to work/school for one day?
What's the drill for Thanksgiving day. Do you get together with family and eat loads and watch TV etc...?
Is it a bigger deal to you that Christmas?
Why do the Lions and Cowboys ALWAYS play on Thanksgiving?

1) What is it for? I must add that understand what users do with it, i don't why however, but i wonder what it's actually for. What problem it is solving.

I'm trying to find the name of the music that plays in the background of Mayor Goldie Wilson's election campaign in Back to the Future. I'm sure it's some famous military marching music but can't think of the name.

Does anyone know it?

Do all US politicians serve only two terms, like the President has to? For example can a member of the House/Senate be a member for longer than two terms.

If not does that mean that your Presidents come to power with, at most, 8 years experience of being a frontline politician?

also

Does a Presidential candidate have to come from Congress or can anyone, provided they can afford it, run?

Apologies if i am using some incorrect terms i'm not 100% on the setup in the USA

So there's this dude, right ,that like, keeps hanging around under our bridge and stuff. We are all like there to just do our thing and relax but he just kinda hangs around pretending to read and stuff. Then he closes his eyes and like hums. We're all really scared he's going to ruin his life if he keeps hanging around groups of kids.

I do not believe in a God. I do not believe in not believing in a God as to do so I would have to accept a God, ergo God would exist.

So i'm confused and i need a label.

Green Bay will win the Superbowl

Vick (dog murderer) looked good and i feel sad for that small boy who started for Philly.

It was a touchdown.

Move the umpire back.
