Flat Earth General / Re: Space X Uses Cardboard And Tape
« on: January 15, 2019, 10:23:22 PM »

Why are they using tape and cardboard?
Why do they keep replacing it when it falls off in the rain?
I didn’t know MacGyver worked at SpaceX. Cool.

As a round earth believer, why are you here?
Hang out while I have a coffee.  Got used the regular characters and it's a bit of a daily soap opera.

2 domes make 1 sphere.
1 half of a sphere makes 1 dome.

So, technically, you should be talking about a atmodome.

I was just quoting Danang from an earlier post

I see that half of y'all are on here for jokes. Y'all are missing the whole point. I asked how are y'all standing on a globe right now at this very moment. Are you standing vertical, horizontal or upside down. It's just a simple question.
With a simple answer.

Down is pointing towards the middle of the globe earth. That’s why the Australian down has the same feel as the Greenlandic down

Lol okay

But I’ll take it as a no. So who to trust? The guy with the spreadsheet or the guy with wonky table?

I think I’ll go with the spreadsheet guy

But then again, who can guarantee that the speedometer tells the fact as it is?  :o
I don't know what kind of crappy car you drive but my speedometer/odometer is very accurate.  I've checked them when I bought it.

Mike

"I've checked them when I bought it."  :o
Yes.  And, I have a spreadsheet to monitor miles per gallon, distance driven, average cost per gallon, and tire pressure.
Do you Danang?

So pi isn’t the ratio between a circle’s circumference and diameter?

Is that the jist of this?

Yes.  But we have moved beyond Pi and Phew and Phoo.  Phew is outdated.  Danang doesn't understand how fast theories evolve.  Phew has been replaced.

Oh yeah?
What's that newest theory other than Pi, Pho and Phew??

You don't need doctors or healers to cure your illness. With zero effort the body will relieve naturally. You don't do anything you'll be magically fresh and healthy.

Why does this miracle not occur?

Because there are continous lasers and microwaves attacks 24 hours a day.

To make people on earth healthy, it takes not doctors. Police and military force can be the other kind of doctors. :o
I know you’re trolling but the day you start trying to convince other people about this crap, will be the day I will digitally punch you right on the sniffer.

is a shit because then two cars run opposite direction and crush then stops; energy goes to zero. But according to Newton it turns to energy of "crash, voice, heat, ets". It does not wash!
Wash?

Energy goes to zero and that’s why a car crash equals explosions and crushed metal

Meanwhile a RE hasn't been disproven no matter how hard people have tried, so that would be absolute truth.
Is RE falsifiable? If yes, RE can be wrong. Then RE is debunked, if not refuted.
Yes! Good job 👍🏼

The RE claim is indeed falsifiable. One can take measurements and observations to refute it. In that regard, RE could be (not “is”) proven wrong. Only ... it hasn’t been by any stretch of the imagination.

And with each expirement trying to refute the roundness of the earth, and failing, RE gets a bit closer to absolute truth.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: How to refute team "Globe"?

All the available evidence indicates Earth is not flat. Based upon that no, team reality can't be wrong about team flat. Earth can't be flat unless someone flattens it.
Why that is not True? Absolute true?
Because all evidence indicates earth is not flat. Jack already said it.

Although I would rather apply some nuance: because all evidence indicates, with a probability extremely close to absolute truth, that the earth is not flat.

Also, to be on clear: “earth is flat” is a falsifiable claim.

Indeed.

Back on topic. Astronomy, got anything else to add?

Preferably around your statement that absolute truth is anything that hasn’t been proven wrong.
.... and never will be proven wrong.
How do we know something will never be proven wrong? Or to turn the question around: how do we know something is absolute truth?
If absolutely all statements of team Globe will be falsified (as the Science is falsifiable), then team Globe in the end is wrong about shape of the Earth.
Falsifiability does not mean a statement is false, it just means that it has the ability of being proven wrong. Thus having some scientific value. Why would you try to disprove a statement that can not be disproven? Hence the question you were asked about pixies (still waiting for an answer).

Another question you didn’t answer: how do you know something is absolute truth? How can you be sure that a statement will never ever be disproven?

I understand all this are scary thoughts for a devout person like yourself. But please try not to see it as a case of good vs evil because it is really not.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: flat earth model idea
« on: December 09, 2018, 11:04:45 PM »
The simple reason that you can't make an accurate flat earth map on a flat piece of paper is because the earth is not flat.  It's not complicated.

Maps are flat.
A globe model is not a map.
Correct

Hence projections. Often used by the FE to disprove RE.

And what "functions of God" would expect should be in that equation.
It is extremely accurate within our solar system as long as you don't get too close to that massive hot thingo about 149.6 million km away.

But in reality all correct descriptions of how "nature" works ("the laws of nature") might be described as the "functions of God".
Function of God is the Freewill of God in the Nature. It explains the Biblical miracles. Latter are example of gaps in atheistic methodology, namely - "God of the gaps".
What value does the function of or have? Imagine if I want to calculate the circumference of the flat earth, where should I input that value?
Globe Earth has perimeter LG=0, but FE has LF=2piR. Holds LG = f*LF, where function of deformation f=0 at perimeter.
Okay thanks. Now imagine if I want to measure the amount of convergent evolution between two species. How do I input the god value there?

Correct. Team Globe can not disprove fiction like pixies, Russel teapot, sinner Harry Potter. Neither can Team Flat.
Team Flat knows for 100 percent, that a fiction is not real. Have you seen the adventures of sinner Harry Potter in wonderland? Really? If yes, then it is mental case.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_teapot
If team flat “knows” for “100%” that pixies are not true .. then prove it. It’s the whole point of this debate.

You haven’t proven anything. You just provided a link to another source that says “pixies don’t exist”. That’s not evidence, that’s not proof.

I can easily link you a website that says “god does not exist”. By your standards I would be right and you would be wrong.

Put up a workable flat-earth model that explains simple things like:
The sun and moon rising from behind the horizon and setting behind the horizon.
The correct directions for sunrises throughout the year.
The sun and moon staying the same angular size from rising to setting.
The northern hemisphere stars rotating anticlockwise around the North Celestial Pole and southern hemisphere stars rotating clockwise around the South Celestial Pole.
Except for Polaris at the North Celestial Pole, I can see all of those with my own eyes.

They're just the easy things to observe. No "scientists in their Lab" needed for them.
The Dark Force I have introduced in the post can account for any visible paradoxes of Flat Earth model.
The amount of Dark Force can be calculated while deformation function between Flat and Globe models.
The Flat Earth model has preference before the Globe, because their members are not forced to follow any nonsense like "Science is refutable, there is no omnipresent God in a Lab." Why? Because team Flat is not paid.
Dude ... The earth is round or flat because it has that specific attribute and NOT because of the methodology used to determine its shape.

An orange is still orange, even if you look at it through a blue filter (I know, it’s a simplified analogy).

If you don’t see the fallacy in this reasoning of yours then this thread can be closed as far as I’m concerned. There’s no way “Team Science” will win this debate
