I would say it doesnt matter even if he was stoned out of his mind on shrooms at the time. All that matters is that something happened that could potentially change his life for the better, good for him I say.

Thats more of a technicality than an actual impossibility.

And Zanmor, i know it doesnt make any sense, if you look at it one way, it must be tehre cause they all are, but look at it another and it cant be there.

Perhaps the conclusion is that somethings just don't make any sense, even in maths and thinking about them too much hurts your head.

So we've actually written a number greater than 1. If you don't add 1 to the one's digit place (the zero to the left of the decimal point) then you aren't actually adding 1 to all the digits. If this were the case then we would have a number between 0 and 1 and would therefore have already written it. Furthermore, theoretically all these numbers would be infinite in nature, I just shortened them so it could be represented and seen easily.

Im going with the second option. You don't add one to the first digit, sorry that was my fault entirely in te explanation. This should work for every integer between 0 and infinite as well, but i find its easier to work with 0 and 1 and include decimals. If you completely ignore the "0." part when doing all of the changes then it makes my explanation easier to understand, id guess.

And while we should have written it, we can't have as we have changed every digit. For example again using shortened digits.

it cant be the first digit in the list 0.0159 because Y starts 0.1260, but maybe 0.1260 occurs somewhere else?
Obviously it does. But by being in the list of numbers, 0.1260 has at least one digit of the same value in the same place as in number X and therefore has at least one digit different in number Y.

I dont know if im gonna do this one justice or not, but its an interesting paradox. Im saying its philosophy because it sure aint any of the others.

Ok, so. You take every number between 0 and 1 (an infinite ammount)
You the lengthen them to an infinite length by adding 0s on the end
so 0.1 becomes 0.1000000000000000(etc)
then, you take the first digit of the first number, and the second digit of the second number, and the nth digit of the nth number and so on. and you call that number X
then you take number X, and write it out again, but you add 1 to all of the digits (9 looping round to 0). call this number Y
This number has to be different to all the other numbers in the list, as X contained one digit from every digit in the list and number Y has every digit different to the one in number X.

Hense, we have not written number Y in the list, even though it contains every number between 0 and 1.

I've never actually read any, although the plots to blizzard games i have found to be truly awesome. Hats off to the writers. I want a love triangle between arctutus, raynor and kerrigan. They could make a blizzard romantic comedy.

The tagline could be
"her heart's in the right place, but now it only pumps creep!"

My basic idea for the plot is that arcturus starts off hating raynor, but after being assigned together by their DA to a tough case they learn to rely on each other, but things fall apart after they both fall for kerrigan, who is going out with a tough hydralisk who doesnt take any stick. However after a hilarious series of event lead to kerrigan agreeing to a date with raynor and arctutus AT THE SAME TIME, she has to manage her double life and in the process learns to love again.

Is shape changing supposed to work by altering other's perceptions or by actually physically chaning the person? Cause couldnt you cut peices off yourself and them have them change their shape inside someone else, chestburster style. It would be the perfect assasination...
And assuming you dont need to retain the same mass, there are some pretty good things you can do with that as well.

Now, I personally loved the original more than I could ever love a person, so i'll be getting the new one because blizzard deserves my money anyway. But it does actually look to be a very decent game in its own right.

Telekenesis in clearly imba. I mean, essentially you could do anything. Who wants powers of magnetism when you can lift anything? who wants just to be able to freeze things when you know kinetic theory?

With sufficient knowledge youd effectively be omnipotent.

That said, and assuming telekenesis is banned, id go for regeneration like that one off Heroes.

I'd agree there, there are a lot of similarities between the US (and to some extent Britain as well) and the onset of facism in Italy and Germany.

I think we need to get clear the definitions between what i'd call mind control and what i'd call propaganda and or the consumerising effects of capitalsm.

To me, its the difference between intmidating someone and physically tying them down. In the former you are changing them superficially and causing them to change their actions through a change in priorities. In the latter they become unable to resist.

I'd also like to point out that I don't mean this as a conspiracy theory, i think its likely that we are as free as we were before the idea of mind control was developed. But considering the various dimentions of the issue is still important.

It does seem that ground is being made on the issue of extreme persuasion, judging by the NLP community as well as works such as the February Man Sequence by Milton Erickson, and its development the October Man Sequence.

I still maintain that keeping mind controlled slaves would be economical, many of the economic costs would be severly cut. Productivity would certainly increase compared to the unmotivated slaves of past times, to such an extent that it would match or even beat free workers considering that the slaves would be committed to their task beyond what "being paid to do it" would provide. Slaves could also be kept on a simple and nutritious diet, which would greatly lower the chances of illness due to malnourishment. Without the concern for the well-being of workers who fall ill, it would be easier to keep workerds in poor conditions, as ill workers could simply be removed.

I've gotta say I hate Dan Brown. " The man gave me the thumbs up, little realising that it was an ancient egyptian symbol for fertility, lololol". Pain in the ass, and over pedantic.

Tolkein as well, irritates me. Sure, it was an original idea at the time, but that doesnt make it a good peice in contemporary times. A lot of people like it because they tell themselves that they should. Also, they are just a whole lot of myths spliced together, with a thin veil of new material to cover it up. Magic ring? had that before. The ring is cursed! nope, had that too. An unlikely band must destroy the ring! erm.. still not original

Micheal Crichton, i liked. Prey was very good.

Clancy and Chris Ryan (i group them together becuase they write the  same books) are a good read once, but they are all effectively the same plot.

Id have to say  foundation is at the top, and them foundation and empire, and then second foundation. Philip K Dick is also good, The Man In The High Castle particularly.

Artemis fowl roxxors.

Someone should write a book called "to mock a killingbird" i would prefer it.
