Antarctica
« on: April 24, 2007, 02:13:33 AM »
Just wondering how FEers explain the claims of people who profess to have circumnavigated Antarctica .

There would be a) substancial discrepancy in the distance traveled.
                     b) Instead of veering starboard they were veering port (or visa versa)
                     c) There were some other things cant think of them just yet but they seem like big differences

Essentially he's asking the same question as asked about 14 million times before. I hate to say it, but could you please use the search?

Anyway, you won't get an answer from the FEers other than 'the instruments are lying' or it's a conspiracyt

Yea, the theory does differ from thread to thread and some even contradict the other. But from I saw there is no Antartica and we are moving in a circle we don't notice (Makes sense but I don't know how to explain properly) and the instruments just are made for a round Earth when we are on a flat Earth with the North Pole being North on a compass... Just what I picked up and I can't really explain much more because I have class right now.

"Antartica" is actually the Ice Wall.  The continent "Antartica" is a lie from the conspiracy.

then wouldnt you be able to tell by sailing to antarctica or the ice wall that it is bening away from you or wraping around you?

what about poor emperer penguins? they live on antarctica...you make them cry.

That would be a VERY hard to see arch.  A certain way to settle the ice wall/Antarcita argument would be to sail around, or within, the entirety of it.  Compare your finding with the circumference of the FE wall, and the circumference of the RE Antarctica.  But no one here has the resources to do such a thing.

No, many people base their belief on conducted experiments that show the earth flat.

Yes, we would be killed if we went to the Ice Wall, and no one would notice because they are being bribed by the conspiracy.

There are plenty of reports of vessels running out of food and supplies while attempting to circumnavigate Antarctica. It happened to James Clark Ross, for example. He vainly sailed around it for months attempting a circumnavigation.

One man claims to have made a transcontinental journey across Antarctica across the pole with a plane. But since compasses don't work there, the magnetic field lines being vertical, it puts his claim in doubt. It would be exceedingly difficult to 'square off to a T' at the base of the Antarctic circle and fly for thousands of miles without turning a single degree.

Many people think this image is an accurate photograph of Antarctica. It's posted on this forum every couple of weeks or so as "proof." But in reality it's just a 3D model which comes from NASA's whirlwind page.

i just dont understand all of this, why would the govournment randomly decide to lie to us about the planets shape....

Could be that they don't want to be wrong. Could be that they are making money. Could be for no reason. I don't know just guessing a few.

how do they make money by telling people the earth is round?

They make money by pocketing the space exploration funds.  NASA alone obtained $16 750 300 000 (US) this year for their "projects", a lot of which will be pocketed because many projects can't exist on a flat earth, like the space station.  Think of the difference of spending 1.6 billion (I think) to maintain the ISS, in comparison to sending some phony rockets up with some payoffs (to astronauts), and pocketing most of the fund.  Sounds like a motive doesn't it?

The air isn't clear.  Too much of it gets in your view after approx. 30 miles (it will vary) so you can only see so far.
