Now Playing (the Video Game Version!)
« on: July 25, 2013, 06:47:37 PM »
So yes, I decided I had to make another general thread because I'm tired of sitting there thinking of whether or not I should make an entire thread about a game just because I want to say something about it. Of course, specialized threads for specific games and series are still great if you want to talk about them, but here's a place where you can just comment on something you're playing, something you just played, or whatnot.

I've decided to start the original Fallout, and omg it's so painfully slow so far. I got a hi-res patch for it because because, but I am not finding myself fond of this combat/movement system so far. Hopefully I'll get more into it.

I am currently replaying Knights of the Old Republic.

Once I get my Xbox cleaned up, I plan on replaying the sequel, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.

Ohh, nice. I still want to play both of those. :P

Also, moving the camera in this game is the single worst experience of my life

KOTOR is probably the only RPG video game I've ever really loved.  The combat system was awesome in that game.  I never played the sequel.  :(

The sequel is good, but LucasArts rushed the developer, Obsidian, to finish the game, so it's full of bugs and has missing content. Luckily, there is a mod that fixes the bugs and restores the content.

If you can find it, it's worth buying.

Guide to finding KOTOR II:

1. Open Steam
2. Search for "Knights of the Old Republic II"

Once you get into it it's a really cool game, extremely flawed and yet amazing at the same time. Also, expect to die a lot, especially if you have Ian in your party.

I usually save on the old Fallouts maybe once every ten minutes, it also helps because there's a lot you can fuck up through seemingly insignificant choices.

Playing Kerbal Space Program on PC. The new update is out but I want to get this ship I've been building in orbit to the innermost planet first:

On the console, when I get around to playing it, I've been playing Mirror's Edge.

Been playing Fallout: New Vegas the past couple of days, just finished the Yes Man route and then started the Lonesome Road DLC. And I'm still playing Skyrim almost every day. (up in 683 hours now)

I didn't like Lonesome Road, I thought it prescribed too much of your character's back-story. By the time my courier got there he wouldn't have done half the things Ullyses accused him of. I also didn't like the really linear path and the lack of humour.

Old World Blues was easily my favourite add-on.

I'm playing Bully: Scholarship Edition on Steam.  It's a great game, but the keyboard controls are awful.  Is there some way to use a controller with this?

Yes. It requires having a controller.

I have a controller.  It's not an official Xbox controller, though.  I don't know if I need one of those specifically.  I plug it in, and nothing happens.  There's no little option I can select for using a controller.

On a whim, as I liked the game as a child though I didn't really understand it, I'm currently playing Harvest Moon 64.

I started about five or six hours ago...haven't stopped since. I am addicted. ;w;

EDIT: Okay, done for now. Played it for practically 10 hours straight (with occasional multitasking and talking to people). It's been a while since I marathoned a game like that and it felt nice :"D
