One of my up coming teachers is mean. He's already assigned homework and classes don't start till Monday.

I need to produce a video in maya synced to a short clip of music with geometric shapes dancing around as a pretest to see our individual levels of ability. It's an easy request, but he has nerve.  >:(

Take it on! Email him asking for the reading/assignments for the course, and start early. I've already polished off the required reading for one of my modules, plus a bunch of extra reading. Now I'm into the second module's reading, and classes don't start until the 12th of September.


If he's mean, get meaner. There is nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

bearing in mind if you do, you will have to live up to that standard for every other assignment

Geometric shapes dancing to music can only be so impressive. :P
I put work into it, but its nothing exceptional. Actually, no scratch that. It's exceptional for being done on my vacation time.

If you want to get lots of hits on you tube, dancing shapes is not the way. You either need a really hot woman stretching, a fat person falling off something and landing hard, or a cat doing something anthropomorphic.
If I am ever dark ruler of earth (its a long term goal), then cat people will be executed and thrown in a hole. Then covered in a pile of dead cats before being packed down with a layer of plastic cat toys, cat clothes and cat beds. >:(

The assignment required shapes with 2D shaders to move/twist/alter/change color etc in sync with music's beat.
