Turns out my family has the rights to a castle in England. It's formally known as the "Wark on Tweed" Castle.

My uncle recently found a letter dating back to 1893, written by some lawyers to my great grandfather, stating that the castle (and accompanying 100 acres) were his if he so desired. We (meaning my family) don't know a whole lot beyond that. We're trying to figure out who owns it, and maybe eventually pay off the accumulated taxes and claim the land.
20,000 internets to anyone who can find out who currently owns the castle/land.
Oh, and I'll scan and post the letter as soon as I get my hands on it.

Oh. And apparently the other half of that side of the family had (has?) rights to the Richmond castle and estate, which are now owned by the Queen.
-
Do you live in Nigeria Hessy?
-
Nope. I'm being completely honest about this. My mother's side of the family consists of the Warks and Richmonds.

Where can I send money to help you clear your tax bill and reclaim your rightful inheritance?
If you owned a castle you would not have found out from a 100 year old letter a relative found the other day. Some ars*hole company like this (http://www.prosearchassets.com/what-are-lost-assets.html) would have called you up and asked for about 20% as a finders fee for doing all the paperwork for you.
^Just so you know how the world works. ;)
-
I'm pretty sure you can get the info from Northumberland county if you can show them proof that your family owns the land.
-
My bad for the crappy wording. My family has had the letter for a long time, I just didn't know about it.
And I'm not asking for money, I just thought it'd be interesting to share. We'd probably sell off some of the land to pay the taxes then rent it out to farmers... not sure yet.

It seems that the term "castle" is quite generous for what's left.

Nowadays the village stands quiet underneath what is quite a substantial mound and earthworks which are easily seen from the road.
-
It's more of a creative interpretation. Not to mention it's a lot less impressive when you say "Hey, my family owns a
castle large mound of dirt and stones in England!"
-
You should find a bunch of green pigs and play the world's largest game of "Angry Birds" with it.

Please provide evidence that vampires exist beyond shitty tween books first.

Does this mean I have to call you 'my Lord', my Lord?

It'll probably be the National Trust or English Heritage. Are you sure it's this Wark Castle? There is one further south near Hexham.

That is on par with saying this girl is a werewolf.

Correct. And you cited a disease that has very little to do with vampires at all. Please try harder.
