I've started reading both the local news for Nashville and the local news for Liverpool and it's hilarious. Apparently, the dangerous and rough city of Liverpool is a kitten compared to Nashville.

We've not had any football riots for years, but we did have a riot involving kids trying to nick things from shops.

Again, that is disappearing. Football is now too expensive for the working class. Games are usually filled with corporate hospitality and ex-Etonians enjoying a pork-pie and slumming it. They are know as the 'prawn sandwich' brigade. They've priced real fans out of the game some years ago.

Implying pubs pay the +£2000 a month for Sky sports subscription. If you can find the game on anywhere, you won't be able to get near the bar to get drunk enough to beat your wife. Bars showing sports are few and far between these days.

We pay $10.20 per gallon of fuel.
Would you pay over $160 for a ticket to watch Arsenal play football? Over $400 for you and a friend and the transport there? For 2 hours entertainment? Same again next week?

No, football isn't watched by the average person in the UK any more. Imagine taking 2 kids to watch the game?

Professional sports are the same here in the US. The taxpayers pay for the luxurious stadiums, then can't afford to buy a ticket to a game. It's not expensive to watch sports on TV, though, even if you pay for cable channels.
