Hope the pain goes soon

I only had to have one wisdom tooth out, cos it grew in sideways. They didn't knock me out though, and I had to have 4 injections of the local anesthetic cos that stuff never works properly on me, sucks. Was pretty painful for the first few days but then it was alright. They didn't even give me painkillers, the bastards! I had to call back the next day and demand a prescription.

Nomad I'd send you my panacods that I got prescribed for a problem that went away the same day but nah, think I'll save them for period pains.

I didn't notice, but when I got 4 of my teeth taken out (not wisdom, the ones before them) on the first day I got a bean stuck in one of the holes and it was there for like a day

The older you are the more pain is usually experienced. >:( :'( >o<

Well, I'm in my mid-30s so I guess I'll see if my experience matches yours.
I was 47, stayed painful for months. I hope yours is good soon.

Yes, but back then the cure for almost everything was leeches.

Why don't you stick a leech up your ass, and see if it cures you.

I gladly took the percocet, though I didn't need it.  I even kept some for relaxing at a later date.  If you don't want your painkillers you can give them to me.  That goes for anyone here.

Am about to go swimming in a lake for the first time, assuming the people there let me. They are being jerks and not replying to my enquiries despite their website saying how anyone can come along and its a really friendly atmosphere. >:(

Why would they want to ruin such a great atmosphere by letting you in?

It'd be the coolest club in the land if they let me in. And you know it. >:(

Nope. Why would I? I once went skinny dipping with my friend's French Exchange student when I was about 16 but we didn't get much swimming done.

Anyway, I have achieved my first lake swim . And it was hideous. Below is a picture of the weather conditions.

The picture doesn't really do justice to how violently those flags were being whipped about.
It was soooooo windy and that made the lake choppy. I got in and kind of panicked. Not panicked in a Team-America super secret signal type way, but my heart rate soared and I was badly out of breath. It was freezing. Eventually I started to calm down. I swallowed lots of lake and a not inconsiderable amount of duck shit that for some reason nature has ordained should float. The lake had twigs and branches in it, leaves and I could just about see my outstretched hand. It was full of algae and really green and dark. It also began raining heavily and as I pushed my face above the chop to breath the raindrops lashed it. I managed about 3km. When I got out I was blue. My lips especially. As I walked in some guy said "go get yourself a hot shower". I was thinking 'Yeah, just what I need'. However the shower was the exact same temperature as the lake. All in all it was a reasonably harrowing experience. I'm going again next Tuesday.

Well, it's not that unusual. There's like, what, two lakes in Britain?

I think you're mistaking those with ponds. You can't even see any lakes on Britain on a map of Europe.

Hell, you can hardly see any on a map of Britain either.

My body hurts. I just can't swim two days in a row. I swam yesterday in the pool and took it easy in the lake, but my muscles are all sore. I was going to go an hit the pool tomorrow but I need the rest. :(

Lakes don't have to be huge to accommodate swimming.

@Thork: Welcome to a typical lake swimming experience. They're disgusting. Next time you might want to check the weather forecast before going out.

Good on you Roundy!  Do you still have cravings?  My dad frequently goes around a year without smoking and then starts up again randomly.

I do, occasionally, get cravings.  It happens most often if I'm in the presence of smokers.  Most of the time I'm not even thinking about it.  It doesn't even cross my mind.
