Horizon shows the Earth is not a globe nor is it flat!
« on: July 30, 2014, 11:49:53 AM »
First video shows that the Earth's horizon is far too high at 120,000 feet to be convex, second video shows how the horizon would drop if the world was flat but had boundaries and due to the fact that we know the world aka Earth only has finite surface area (25,000 miles around approximately) then we can accurately know what shape the Earth is.

The reason why Earth curves upward yet you cannot see higher then the horizon is that to see light you must be at an angle lower then the light sources maximum angle of shine, since the light shines on Earth only that which is reflecting light is visible, the atmosphere reflects a small amount of light which is why we see mostly blue and white in the sky white white clouds refracting more light then the atmosphere and dark clouds blocking more light then the atmosphere. We can only see about 3 miles straight out in any direction which is why stars disappear the higher you get into space as the atmosphere thins out. Stars actually appear brighter the closer you get to sea level but you will never see a star lower then 20 degrees because refraction goes down the closer you get to the horizon which is why the sky goes from blue to red when it's near the horizon level.

We can see further than 3 miles.

Perhaps the horizon is shown to be that high because of where the camera is pointing? Crazy huh?

Watch. Take your camera and look through the view finder at the horizon. Now turn the camera downward a bit and marvel at that horizon getting higher.

LOL.  The video proves one thing for sure.  Never take advice from a drugged-up trucker after 36 hours behind the wheel of a Mack.

The poor guy obviously has absolutely no idea of how a camera, or lenses work.  I can take a picture of the top of a perfectly straight picket fence, with zero distortion, with any of widest angle lens you'd care to name.  Dead straight.  Although the wide-angle curvature thing is always the first port of call for any self-respecting flat earther.

I had to laugh at his self-described "simulation" towards the end.  One featureless blue rectangular area, and another larger blue rectangular area—which together prove the earth is "not convex".  I'm guessing that even the flat earthers here would agree that these forums aren't the place for posting the ramblings of some dimwitted trucker who thinks he's the spawn of Albert Einstein.
