I come back here after a long long long time, and still see some old members here, for example The Engineer, who has over 12k posts.

I mean, to put so much effort as 12 000 posts to something as debating an FE/RE theory is truly amazing. I bet 99% of the people here come just to have fun/flame the place /stop being bored. Or they just really like to have a nice, healthy argue. Which isn't that bad to have from time to time.

I must say, I envy you because you have so much free time (I wish I did), but you might want to use it in a more useful way

Cartography is amazingly accurate to be a hoax. You decline maps as RE maps, but you travel with the help of maps, because they are accurate. What proof( besides that it is a part of the conspiracy) do you have that those maps are false?

Here is a list of illusions in a flat earth theory. Please add up anything that I miss

1) What about sunrises-sunsets?

It's a illusion. The sun actually gets farther away.

2)Illuminated clouds appear before sunrise over the curvature of the Earth.

From narcberry: The same horizon illusion due to the earths acceleration also explains the cloud effect.

3)From narcberry: You look out at the sea. If the horizon was curved, then the highest point would be directly in front of you. Now rotate your body a little to the right. Now the horizons highest point is to the right of its previous location. If such an anomaly existed, it is clearly an optical illusion.

4)From I'm not Tom Bishop but I can't prove it:People have been brainwashed into "seeing" curvature where there is none.  I bet if you drew a straight line with a ruler on the board, all these people would see curvature.

5)From dogplatter: If you fly in a plane and see curvature which isn't there even by the admission of round Earthers, it just goes to show how sickeningly effective the conspiracy is at making you believe in their lies.

6)From narcberry: Well you are quite right to observe this. This is however countered by the fact that our eyes actually observe things to be upside down, our brains counter this. This is why the horizon appears to be just the opposite of what you would expect.

What about satelite dishes?

They broadcast tv signals using satelites so if you live in france you can watch a TV program from Japan

Ok, so:

Round earth: the Earth and planets move around the sun because of their mutual gravity attractions

Flat earth: the Earth moves upwards constantly at 1g.

Questions:

1) How was the 1g speed calculated?

2) Why does the Earth travel at 1g?

3) How come asteroids don't travel at 1g and how were they created?

4) How do you explain the Sirius system where are (i think) 2 stars(Sirius A and B) that are mutually affected by GRAVITY moving around each other(yes that can be and is calculated and scientiffically prooved). How come they aren't moving at 1g or whatever?

5)What about other planets in our system?How come they aren't always at the same position considering earth if they move at a constant speed in the same direction?

6)What about comets that pass by every 50, or every 100, or every 5 years?How come they have a orbital trajectory?

So, if I understood it, in a flat earth, if i jump up, i dont go back, but the earth comes to me, because its travelling at 1g? I want a simple answer yes or no, if no, what is the definition?

My question is wether the moon is flat too.In the FAQ it says the Moon and Sun are spotlights so I guess they are flat.So it would look something like this(really really bad drawing):



Now altough the drawing is as simple as it gets,and it looks like the moon is bigger than the sun, it doesn't matter, it should do for this question.

My question is how could a asteroid hit the moon if the moon surface is facing the earth surface???

Here are some arguments from Aristotle that proove the spherical earth theory:

1)Every portion of the earth tends toward the center until by compression and convergence they form a sphere

2)Travelers going south see southern constellations rise higher above the horizon

3)The shadow of Earth on the Moon during a lunar eclipse is round

How do you explain that?

Ok, how do you explain the Google Earth program?The ability to pinpoint on any location on the (round, ofcourse) Earth, with exact coordinates and all.Is that program too a part of the conspiracy?It would take a huge amount of men and time to fake all of the things that google earth offers.

This all must be a big joke, cause I don't understand how anyone could accept such a theory(yes, I've read the FAQ)

I have a question for you:how did all the saliors(like Magellan) and pilots who went(for example) from Portugal towards west ended up in, lets say, india, or australia?They went west and ended up east, a real puzzle, isn't it?So, how do you explain that?Are they all part of the conspiracy too?
