I think his campaign says he won't debate Mamala until she is confirmed as the nominee.

Which is fine but the debate with the democratic nominee was scheduled after the Convention so why not say "we will debate the democratic nominee on..."?

Also, Harris is almost as presumed as Biden was at this point.  So why the shift?

I don't know!

I was just reading about Trump filing a complaint with the FEC because the big Dem donors were holding off giving money until Biden announced he wasn't running, and then the Harris campaign claimed the war chest.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

That's a weird filing.  At least to me.

Vote for me and you won't have to vote anymore.

That doesn't sound at all ominous.

This, plus this whole "I only want to be a dictator on Day One," make for a pretty interesting pairing of statements. I don't know of any other dictators that have deposed themselves under terms that could in any way be described as amicable between the former dictator and the peasants that they ruled over. Maybe I'm mistaken on that, but I rather think any counterexamples can serve as an exceptions of such rarity that they better demonstrates the rule than disprove it.

So he'll be a dictator by his own admitted ambitions on day one of his presidency. And we're supposed to believe that, after the first day, he'd willingly give up those powers, despite basically all of history demonstrating the opposite to be more likely, so let's toss out that assumption. And also, according to the very same source, he'll make sure we never have to worry about voting again. I mean, he's laying it all out for the world to see. All anyone needs to do is pay attention.

She was a prosecutor, so presumably capable of thinking on her feet.

Anyway, she only has to debate Trump and although he's a natural showman he's a not a good debater.  If Biden hadn't been such an absolute trainwreck during their debate I think people might have noticed how poor Trump was a lot of the time - just waffling drivel and several times drifting off.

I think anyone not brain dead would make Trump look poor at a debate.

On the other hand, pollsters usually tell us that debates don't really count for much anyway and are soon forgotten.

Oh, I'm positive she will be better than Trump, it's just that she isn't that great at normal speaking. She is very weird in interviews, but pretty good when giving speeches. A lot of court stuff is like giving a speech, the arguments are written before being made in court.

She has the benefit of a friendly press, now. They made fun of her for years, and then as soon as she became the de facto nominee they can't praise her enough.

Presumably she had to cross examine people.  I don't believe the US court system is like ancient Rome where you just made a series of speeches and the winner was the one with the best rhetoric.

Doesn't need to be healed.  Could be a prosthetic or skin graft.  Likely skin graft.

Also, all the rifle round would do is punch a hole in the ear.  Nothing more.  So yes, I can see the part where his ear got punctured and was repaired.

She was a senator when Trump was president.  There's a number of hearings on youtube that demonstrate her ability to think on her feet.  As long as her advisors aren't telling her to pretend to be on the far left she should be fine.

There are some videos recreating the ear shot on a ballistic gel model and the high speed shows quite a lot of trauma that you wouldn’t expect from a pig ear or paper target.

Ballistics gel is a gel.  It's a body.  A block.  That's gonna  create a cavity and make it jiggle. An ear is too soft and thin to do that.  Especially on a graze.

Ballistic gel can be molded to simulate various body parts, including human ears.

Come on, lorddave. Even Jon Stewart made fun of her.

Haven't seen any of his show since he came back.
It comes out from your point of view that getting shot in the ear with a rifle bullet has about the same effect as wearing an earring.
No, it comes from a video showing the same effect on a pig ear.  And a good understanding of physics.

Also remember: we shoot paper targets and they do not explode or rip apart or whatever it is you think happens when a bullet hits something thin.
In this case, Since there is no problem with his ear, there is no victimization.

Oh I am wrong.
There was no hole, it grazed the edge.   So less healing anyway.

Why would he be fool enough to hide this when he has a hole in his ear as real evidence that he was a victim and a hero survived a terrorist attack?
Same reason he wears a toupee.

Ballistic gel can be molded to simulate various body parts, including human ears.

Fair.  Still only punched a hole.  Didn't blow it off or whatnot.

True.  However, it seems that there should have been trauma of some sort.  If nothing else, one would think that the sonic boom from a bullet passing that close to his ear should have had caused some sort of damage to his inner ear, or possibly even his brain.  That's one of the reasons that some are calling for the medical records from the incident should be released to the public.

I think the sonic boom would have been much closer to the shooter than Trump.
