Earth as we know it is not made of dark matter or dark energy, and neither does any visible or, in fact, observable matter. Logically, it's irrelevant.

The article says at the beginning that dark matter and dark energy constitute about 9/10ths of our universe while failing to interact with other kinds of observable matter outside their respected parameters. Basically, you could as well say that Earth is held together by photons - that's just not those particles do.
