I wonder what he thinks now?   Hopefully the penny has dropped and he will start to see that he's been fed a pack of lies about hydroxy.

Trump is apparently receiving remdesivir, the drug that has actually been scientifically proven to reduce the severity of the symptoms.

Either Trump is completely freaking out over this or this is a lot more serious than they're letting on.

Antivirals help most if you take them early.

It's a bit more mixed than that.   This (small) RTC just published today.

From reading, it sounds like you probably need to take it in the first 8 hours of infection for any positive effects.  Which is pretty useless really.  You'd essentially have to be already taking it before you even got infected.

So with 3 senators down and unable to vote  ( because, as I understand it you have to be actually present in person to vote in the senate )  Does that mean McConnell doesn't have the numbers to confirm that ultra right catholic nutter?

Unclear.  They can always just skip any hearings and go to a straight up or down vote and allow remote voting.  That requires knocking down quite a few procedural hurdles but they've got the votes and this is without exaggeration the most important thing to the republican party.  So if they have to  then they can do it.

Even if Trump is doing okay and the doctors are happy, I hope all this stuff they are giving him (the antibodies, antivirals etc) comes with putting the fear of God into him. So much so that Trump is right now staring at his own mortality. That he really thinks without intervention and help he is a dead man. So if/when he comes clear of it, he cant say he 'easily beat it'.

Maybe then he will have a new appreciation for the seriousness of this disease. After all, not everyone is going to have the kind of doctors, support and specialist attention he has. Many people have nothing at all.

I disagree, I think the docs are honest about his health condition. But I think this is all we know:

- Heart rate and blood pressure are fine (thus he's not and has not been in a shock [not sure if shock is the proper english term])
- He has no fever right now, but probably had a quite high fever recently (is his fever down since 24h due to meds, antibodys or 'naturally'?)
- He is not on oxygen right now, spO2 is 96% which is good (but he likely was on oxygen for some time already)
- His risk factors are obesity, being male and his age; I think that'd make an approximate statistical mortality of 4-7%.

That is weird. They do have a page for that film and that is the link, but you have to click the first option on the page that says they don't have an article, then another page says they don't have an article and if you click the first option on that page it will take you to the article.
