  • The flat earth is a globe!!!
If anybody is interested he did it.

Although he wasn't the first. A man by the name of Jon Sanders actually went around twice and he did it in 1981-1982. This Sanders guy has set many solo sailing records in the past 35 years.

Uh, don't see how this is a debate topic.

You're right, there's no debate. The ice wall doesn't exist.

VICTORY!And here I though youtube pron (shuffle it...) day was the best thing January 6th could ever be.
When I was 5 years old my mum always told me that happiness was the key to life.
When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I wrote down "happy."
They told me I didn't understand the assignment.

I believe Antarctica is a distinct continent much as it is in RET. There is probably an ice wall or shelf beyond the known Earth, but I don't think anyone truthfully knows what's there.

There is no satisfactory explanation for this offered by the flat guys.

Plenty of people have tried. They all got lost or killed by a global conspiracy is all.

Assuming a RE, and basing their navigation on the maps and instrumentation provided, nobody would travel beyond the known Earth. However, some FE'ers believe that references to a great continent beyond the known Earth (referred to as the Antichtone) exist in ancient mythology.

Many landmasses are discovered by accident. Given our ability to take pictures of Pluto's moon, it is absurd that you would suggest that there is some unknown continent or area on Earth that we don't know about. This isn't the 18th century anymore.

If the Earth is flat, and said landmass is a great distance from the known Earth, and every ship is navigating based on RE geography, it is far from absurd to contend that it may simply be undiscovered (or at least generally unknown).

What about before satellites and gps? Didn't Amelia Earheart fly around the world? What about Magellan and all the other explorers?

They all still based their navigation on misguided ideas about the stars, the shape of the Earth, and magnetic poles.

Or you know, they all did it correctly, and this entire forum is a misguided idea.

I'm pretty sure they always kept Antarctica to their left or right (depending on which way they went).

And...?

The guy in the Antarcic Race wasn't necessarily going around the "ice wall," but an icy island off the coast of Australia.

From what I saw of the rules, south of 60 degrees south latitude is out of bounds so I doubt that they would ever see Antarctica.

Selective evidence gathering = Pseudoscience.

You can see the same thing going on here:
How do we know that they didn't cross a peninsula like those other guys?

"First-hand testimonial" is one Tom's criteria for proof.    This should actually read "first-hand testimonial, so long as it supports FET".

I haven't performed it and I've never claimed to. I've have trouble being in two places at the same time.

Yeah.  Tom's willing to accept 3rd hand testimonials about navigators being able to see Polaris well south of the equator, yet he won't believe first hand testimonials from astronauts either.
