Or, they are three separate and distinct personages who are one is purpose. One job of the Holy Ghost is to testify of truth another is to be a comforter.

Flat Earth General / Re: Google Maps/Earth Proves a Round Earth

Round objects from flat panels.

Earth looks flat from your window because it is at that point on the earth. The whole is not flat however. Case closed.

Flat Earth General / RE folks listen up.....
« on: April 26, 2010, 02:22:33 PM »
I haven't posted in a long time but do lurk from time to time. I am a RE believer but I have to say that the RE folks have it wrong. Seeing how this is the Flat Earth Society's website they need to prove nothing, it is their site and they can claim anything they want.  The job of RE folks is not to disprove FE, but rather prove RE beyond a shadow of a doubt. Too many of you get all huffed up and angry and believe the FE folks to be obtuse and belligerent but they are just waiting for RE proof, not FE disproof. Everyone needs to adjust their arguments to reflect this and you will make more headway with the RE argument.

If anybody is interested he did it.

Although he wasn't the first. A man by the name of Jon Sanders actually went around twice and he did it in 1981-1982. This Sanders guy has set many solo sailing records in the past 35 years.

The Lounge / Re: Proposition 8
« on: November 12, 2008, 11:01:51 AM »
Proposition 8 is about granting special treatment to gays and lesbians. No one is preventing a gay man from marrying, only from marrying another man. It is and has always been legal for a man, whether gay or straight, to marry a woman. This is about providing special treatment to allow gay men and lesbian woman to marry people of the same sex. I know that this is hard for some of you to understand but it is true.

Here is a good video for all to look at. If you stop this at :15 you will see definite curvature of the earth.

This is a new high adrenalin service that is being offered so we should start seeing even more convincing evidence of RE in the near future.

Flat Earth Q&A / Magnetic Field
« on: June 02, 2008, 08:34:55 AM »
Been a while since I have posted anything, but I came across an article about a guy building a miniature earth to find out if it can generate its own magnetic field. The article is pretty detailed and very applicable to this debate.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: How did you People find this site?
« on: April 23, 2008, 10:11:04 AM »
I was actually on a web site that debunks the moon landing debunkers and this site was mentioned as not believing that man has been to the moon.

Flat Earth Q&A / Marriage in space!!!!
« on: April 21, 2008, 09:41:15 AM »
Richard Branson to be the first man to marry a couple in space:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/showbiznews.html?in_article_id=560792&in_page_id=1773

This will be done from 70 miles up and allow for "spectacular" views of the planet. Just think of all of the new conspirators this will produce!!!

Flat Earth Q&A / Ion engine enters space race
« on: April 18, 2008, 06:09:28 AM »
I want to start out by asking if it is considered as trolling the way that I post articles to this forum. Next, here is an article about a private company that is sending an ION drive vehicle to study the earths GRAVITY. What is cool is that the ship has solar panels on one side, the one that faces the sun, and fins that work like a heat sink on the side that faces away from the sun. Anyway, I post these articles because I feel they demonstrate the RE and also should lead to good debate here.

To just look at the glass with the window up on most cars looks flat, but if you place a ruler or other straight edge on them you will see that they are not. I am just saying looking out your window and saying the earth is flat because it looks flat isn't proof enough.

16
Most people think that their side windows are flat. They appear to be but they are infact curved. Except for jeep wranglers I don't know of a single mass produced car that still used flat glass in any window. Curved is safer. It reflects impact better. Just because something looks to be flat it isn't always. In fact the only modern reference there is to the the satirical 2007 movie!!!

17
I checked your signature Tom and I guess I would like to know what year yo think it is? My favorite link there is for the $5000 reward from 1931. That guy died in 1942!!!! Reset your bot clock. I have to wonder if you made it through Y2K. ;D

OK real quick. The windows in your car doors. Curved or flat. Don't go out and check just think and post quickly.

Flat Earth Debate / Another Link
« on: April 11, 2008, 07:31:27 AM »
Here is a link to a new report involving all of the space junk around the earth. If you click on the one link on the left on the page you can see an animation showing the stuff accumulate from 1954 with sputnik up to 2000. Does this prove anything? To RE's it proves the earth round to FE's it proves the conspiracy i guess.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Prove the earth is a GLOBE
« on: March 28, 2008, 12:39:52 PM »
Just for the record camera lenses are telescopes. They are telescopes with a camera mount on one end. With modern coatings and laser lens cutting there is no way a telescope from the 1880 could ever compare with the optics of today.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: NASA is a religion
« on: March 28, 2008, 05:56:59 AM »
I guess I will chime in here and say that private industry is starting to build ships to take people to outer space. We have heard of Burt Rutan and his spaceship I, but he is working on spaceship II which is scheduled to take its first space tourist up in 2009. And also Virgin Galactic.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/air_space/4256017.html

http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2008/01/23/221031/pictures-virgin-galactic-unveils-dyna-soar-style-spaceshiptwo-design-and-twin-fuselage-white-knight.html

Now there is a second company that is going to also offer flights that anyone with the money and willingness to go can be able to actually see the earth and they plan to do this several times per day.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/air_space/4255991.html

http://www.xcor.com/
As these companies develop we will start seeing average people making these trips and then bringing back photos and stories about their trips to space and what a wonderful experience it was to view the earth from space. We all just need to be patient and well will see if the earth is indeed a globe or flat and also know if the sun and moon are small or far away.

Now before anyone lumps them into the conspiracy pile remember these are private companies that receive no funding or any input from the government. They have nothing to protect and I can say that having followed allot of what Burt Rutan has done over the years he is not affraid to publicize his failures and is very open about what has and what hasn't worked for him.

Flat Earth Q&A / My admission
« on: March 07, 2008, 07:52:09 AM »
I must admit that I came here with the full intent of trying to find enlightenment to a FE. I wanted to be convinced. I really expected to find more solid arguments against RE than I have. You must prove your theory correct not prove other side wrong. It seems that on that account the RE camp is more compliant than FE. I must now confess that I am a blatant RE believer. I feel I can no longer be non biased. I have spent a lot of time searching for articles and information to show reasonable doubt in RE but most searches just come back to here. I will keep looking to outside sources for CURRENT validation but I do understand that I am biased, but I try very to have an open mind. If anyone cares.

So if the moon emits it's own light, what causes moon phases?

Here comes the shadow object!!

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Shadow Object
« on: March 06, 2008, 01:46:27 PM »
I can find nothing anywhere that can support the shadow being a "weather system" as even though there is a minimal atmosphere it could never support anything that big much something that cannot be seen. Here is a great article from 1998 that goes into pretty good detail about research up to that point.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/1998/08/980820080624.htm

And here is another from 1957 that is really interesting as well. It talks about the moon eclipsing stars. Really cool!!!

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Shadow Object
« on: March 06, 2008, 08:09:48 AM »
Where does the weather come from? Our atmosphere doesn't go out that far even if we use the 3000 mi FE distance. Also the moon has no atmosphere, if it did shouldn't we see something other than the shadow object? But, that is an awesome thought!
