England Manager resigns

Fabio Capello has resigned.

Lucky for the FA, Redknapp was cleared of tax evasion this afternoon. I can't help thinking the two are related. This all seems like awesome preparation for the European Championships this summer. ::)

Yeah, I think this was in the pipeline for a while. They were waiting for Redknapp to get his name cleared first.

Redknapp is going to ask them for an outrageous contract. He'll have more money than the inland revenue. Oh wait ...

Also, I'm not sure how good he'll be. The thing he is good at, is buying and selling players. Players like Van Der Vaart and Diarra - a player who played for Portsmouth and then went in a megabucks move to Real Madrid. You can't do that in International football. Sadly we can't offer the Dutch a few quid for Van Persie or try to offload an ageing Lampard in exchange for Fabregas. He's not reknowned for being a master tactician, he's reknowned for being a bit dodgey and wheeling & dealing. Neither or which are going to help him be an England manager. :(

Still, if its him or Woy Hodgeson ...  :'(

I'm confused...they already played the Super Bowl and baseball doesn't start for a couple more months so why are we talking about sports?
Normally when I'm not sure I just cop a feel.

At what point do you cease being a soccer coach and become a soccer manager?
Why do we fall back to earth? Because our weight pushes us down, no laws, no gravity pulling us. It is the law of intelligence.

When you put on a suit to go to work, instead of a tracksuit.

No, I was talking about a sport that the whole world plays. Not some idiosyncratic local hobby.

Is soccer the only sport in the world where they have managers? What makes them so special they need to wear a suit?

True he's a wheeler dealer but it'll be nice seeing someone from England getting the england job. Cant imagine he'd be as uninspiring as Capello.
I saw a slight haze in the hotel bathroom this morning after I took a shower, have I discovered a new planet?

Professional rugby teams have Head Coaches that are roughly equivalent. Most wear suits.

I hope Psycho gets the job, personally.
